Daily Devotional church in Bangalore
by Sis Jean George

Shalom, thank you for joining us once again for our daily devotional. We are looking at the last part of our series, on our meditation of pleasing God. We have looked at how scripture talks about ways of how we can please God. We saw obedience as a way of pleasing God, having that reverential fear, walking in the light, walking in the Spirit. Today, we look at the Lord's love language, the faith that pleases God. Hebrews chapter 11, verse 6, ‘But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.’ God says that without faith it is impossible to please him. Now, this is a warning sign for our spiritual journey. Faith is a gift that pleases God. It is a language that we speak, when we speak to God. So, if pleasing God is impossible without faith, then we really need to understand some basic truths about what this faith is or the faith that pleases God. Hebrews chapter 11, verse 1 tells us about what faith is. It says ‘faith is the confident assurance of what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things that we cannot see.’ Faith is the trust and the confidence that we put in God that He will do what He says He would do, even when we cannot see it, even when there is no evidence of it. Faith is believing something that and being really assured of the fact. So, where does this faith come from? Scripture says that faith comes by hearing and by hearing the word of God. What is it really about faith that pleases God? We see that when we have faith, it opens us to God's will. God has a beautiful plan for each one of us. He has a beautiful will for each one of us and the more that we trust God, the more that we believe in Him, He will fulfill those purposes for us. It is only until and unless we completely surrender our hearts and our plans to Him that He is able to perform His will in our lives. So, faith opens up God's will. Faith also is the manifestation of our love for God. When we express our faith in God, we are showing it's equivalent to us, saying God, I love you, God, I trust you. So, when we place our faith in Him, we are so assured of His love and His compassion for us and no matter what happens to us, we know that He will bring good out of it. Faith also is an expression of our honor to God. So, when we show we trust God, we are letting others know that we honor God, we trust Him so much that we just completely believe in Him and this becomes an example to others, in front of our family, in front of our friends, when we honor God with the faith that we place on Him. Hebrews chapter 10, verse 38 it says this thing, it says ‘now, the just shall live by faith.’ Notice the next verse it says, ‘But if anyone draws back, my soul has no pleasure in him.’ God cannot be pleased with all of us who may shrink back because we do not show confidence in Him. If we need to please God, there is a requirement of faith and confidence that we have to place in God, that is a condition that we have to please His heart. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, we pray Lord that we as the just will live by faith. I declare and decree that none of us who are watching, who are hearing this devotional, will shrink back, but we will grow in our faith, in our confidence and in our assurance of you every day. Thank you for building our faith in you, we know that it pleases your heart because it's your language of love to us. We say we love you when we put our faith and trust in you, in Jesus’s precious name we pray, Amen.
