Hello everyone, welcome. It is great to connect back with you. We are talking about overcoming the enemy. Today, we will look at faith as a weapon. There was this incident when the disciples of Jesus wanted to cast out demons and they couldn’t and Jesus had to step in and do the needful. But later on, they come back to Jesus and they ask Him about what could have gone wrong. In Matthew chapter 17, from verses 19 to 21, Jesus explains to them and He says that it was their unbelief that was the hindrance and they couldn’t overcome satan or demons at that point in time. This is a truth for us to hold on to, that faith in our lives gives us overcoming power over the enemy. Even when we consider the armor of God, there is a shield of faith which is given to the soldiers and we, as soldiers (believers) hold on to this shield of faith which is a weapon of defense against the enemy. We also see that shields were used as an offence as well. So, we can use it in both ways. However, the point is that faith protects us. We know that our adversary, satan comes with all kinds of attacks and generally, these attacks have to do with the mind where he brings in thoughts that are not aligned to the truth of God’s word and when we yield to those thoughts, eventually, we fall into his trap. But when we build faith in our hearts and minds, it acts as a shield and every time there is a wrong thought or an attack from the enemy, the faith protects us, the truth of God’s word protects us and we can stay out of the plots of the evil one. Let’s remember to build faith because faith is a weapon and will help us extinguish the fiery darts of the evil one. How do we get this faith? The word of God tells us that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. So, for us to build faith, we need to spend time in God’s word, meditate upon His word and faith will be built up in our hearts and that is how we can overcome the evil one. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that you’re helping and equipping us to understand how we can stand our ground against the enemy. We pray that you will help us build faith in our hearts to overcome satan and all his lies. We thank you that we are victorious, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
