Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Examine (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Nancy Ramya

Hello everyone, thank you for joining in. We are talking about growing by the word of God and we realize that God’s word is so important in our faith walk. We need to invest time in the word of God and that is what will equip us, strengthen us, nourish us, and lead us forward in God. Today, I want us to look at Acts chapter 17 and verse 11, it says, ‘These were more fair minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.’ This is talking about a group of people whom Paul and his team visited, they are the Bereans and something special about this group is that they had a soft heart towards God’s word. We are told that they received the word with all readiness, which means that they were prepared to hear from God and respond to that call of God. The next feature about them is that they searched the scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. These Bereans were people who knew the scriptures and they wanted to examine everything which was taught to them, and they wanted to go back and compare the notes with the standard of God’s word. The person who preached to them was apostle Paul and for many of us and people of their times, apostle Paul would have been a very great personality, bringing God’s word to them. Sometimes, we tend to have this attitude that we must just be okay with anything that is said and especially by someone who is very great (like apostle Paul in their times), but they still went back and looked at the scriptures and they checked if the things which they heard from Paul were so. This is a wonderful quality for every believer to have, for us to go back and check from scripture, everything that we hear from anywhere, it doesn’t have to be just a great person who is sharing, but anybody who brings God’s word or from any place where we hear God’s word, it is our responsibility to go back and check before we begin to apply that word in our lives. For those of us who teach God’s word, when we look at James chapter 3 and verse 1, we are told that we have higher standards to live by because we are teaching people about how to conduct themselves, before which we have to do and then preach. We are held accountable, we have higher standards to live by and also to take responsibility in the way the word of God is shared, the truth is shared. In 2 Timothy chapter 2 and verse 15, we are encouraged to rightly divide the word of God or to interpret in the correct manner so that the application which people have is correct. Let’s be people who know the scriptures, examine anything that we hear and ensure that it is what God is speaking to us. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you for the example of the Bereans, we pray that we too will have that earnest heart that searches the scriptures and even as we do that, we pray that you will continue to equip and strengthen us in your word, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
