Greetings and thank you so much for joining us throughout this week, as we’ve been reflecting on the person of Jesus Christ. It’s always good to remind ourselves of who Jesus is. Of course, there is so much the bible tells us about Jesus Christ. What we’ve been doing this week is focusing on one passage, Hebrews chapter 1, verses 1 to 4 and looking at various aspects of who Christ is as given to us in this passage. Of course, we haven’t completed everything but we’ve been pointing out individual titles and aspects of who He is. As we close out today, I want to bring our attention to what it says there in Hebrews chapter 1, verse 3 that ‘Jesus sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. He has become so much better than the angels as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.’ The writer of Hebrews pointing us to Jesus who came into this world, he says, after what Jesus did for us through His earthly life, ministry, death on the cross, that He has been exalted at the right hand of the majesty on high. He has been set in this place far above everything else and He has been given a name that is more excellent than every other name, than all the names of all the angels, all created things and beings, this Jesus has been exalted above all. Today, we are not worshipping a baby Jesus, a man Jesus, a crucified Jesus, we are worshipping the exalted Jesus, the one who is seated with the Father in heaven as the eternal word, the one who is seated with God the Father in His eternal glory, we are worshipping that Jesus. So, when we think about Jesus, we don’t confine our thoughts to His earthly life and ministry, we recognize that today, He is glorified in all of His glory as a deity. He is omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, co-equal with the Father and the Spirit as He is seated at the right hand of the Father, that is the Jesus we worship, God. Let’s pray, Lord Jesus, we honor you as God, we worship you as God and we glorify you as God. Thank you for all you did in coming into this world, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
