Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Ephesians 3 (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Jeyakumar Isaiah

Hello and welcome to Living supernaturally. It is awesome that you could join today even as we look into God’s word. In today’s episode, we are going to be looking at one of the prayers that Paul prayed over the church in Ephesus, it is interesting to see the kind of things that he is praying for the church/ believers to experience and walk in. This can be our prayer for us, and over those in our families and over those whom the Lord has placed us as spiritual overseers.

Let’s look at Ephesians chapter 3 and verse 14, Paul says, ‘For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,’ so that’s the first thing that he prays, that ‘He would grant you according to the riches of His glory to be strengthened with might through His spirit in the inner man.’ So, God’s will for us is to be strong in our inner man, in the Spirit man and to be strengthened with the ability of the Holy Spirit in the inner man. The word again used there is that we be strengthened with His might, the word used there is ‘dunamis’ which means supernatural power. The Lord wants us to be strengthened with supernatural power and this would come only by the power of the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit quickens the word to us, the word produces faith in us, it builds us up, when we pray in the Holy Spirit/ pray in tongues and the Holy Spirit releases the gifts in us, we are being edified in the inner man and we are being strong and built up in the inner man. Similarly, when the Holy Spirit leads us, we can pray for people to be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit, the power, and the anointing of the Holy Spirit. So that is one thing that he prays.

Secondly, he says ‘that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, that you bring rooted and grounded in love, maybe able to understand the love of God.’ That Christlikeness will be seen in us when we are rooted in God’s love, have a firm grip in God’s love and when we are drawing from God’s love. The word used there is indicative of striking a root deep inside, so Paul is praying that you be rooted and grounded (foundation which is firmly established) in the love of God. Paul is saying that you may grow up, that you being rooted, that Christ may dwell in your hearts and you may be able to comprehend the width and the depth of the love of God. Notice that he says that you may be able to comprehend with all the saints, so its not only an individual pursuit, but a collective corporate community pursuit where we pursue the love of God and are built up in the love of God and understand His love as a community. Let’s pray this over ourselves and over others as well.

Let’s pray, Father, we thank you, that we have this opportunity to be strengthened with your might in the inner man. We thank you that we have this opportunity to be rooted and grounded in your love, in order to be Christlike. I pray that Christlikeness will be seen in us, that your love will be reflected in and through our lives and also your power be manifest through our lives. We thank you, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
