Shalom and thank you for joining us to Living Supernaturally, where we look into God's word,
encourage ourselves, look to scripture for application as we move in our walk with God. We
have been looking at embracing God's nots, certain instructions of God that help us. Today, the
instruction we're going to look at is from a familiar verse. It's from Psalm chapter 102 from
verses 2 to 5, where it says to forget not. It reads, "Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and forget not all
his benefits: Who forgives all our iniquities, who heals all our diseases, who redeems your life
from destruction, who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your
mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagles." We often tend to forget
the goodness of God, don't we? Life moves fast, things move on and we forget God and His
goodness. In times of trouble, we're actually quick to remember our disappointments or our
unanswered prayers, but how often do you and I pause to thank God and to remember His
faithfulness? The psalmist understood the human tendency to forget and that's why he's
speaking to his own soul and commanding his soul to bless the Lord and not forget all His
benefits. So, we see that this is not just an encouragement again, it is a deliberate call to
remembrance. When we intentionally remember what God has done, our hearts are filled with
gratitude and our faith grows and our worries tend to seize. Forgetting God's goodness is
actually quite dangerous. It can lead to discouragement, it can lead to doubt, it can lead to
ingratitude. But when we choose to recall His mercies, our perspective changes, our paradigm
just shifts. Instead of focusing on what's lacking, we rejoice in what He has already done. In
these verses in Psalm chapter 32, David reminds himself not to forget benefits and he lists five
of them here. Forgiveness, to not forget that God has pardoned and erased all of our sins. He
emphasizes healing, to not forget that God heals all our diseases, physical, emotional and
spiritual. The third is redemption, to not forget that God has rescued us from destruction and
gives us new life. It talks about loving kindness and mercies, to not forget that He crowns us and
surrounds us with His unfailing love and tender mercies. And lastly, satisfaction and renewal, to
not forget that He provides all we need restoring our strength like that of the eagle. So, as you
go through today, take a moment to reflect on God's goodness in your life and let gratitude
replace that anxiety and let praise take that place of worry. Remember, He forgives, He heals,
He redeems, He loves, and provides yesterday, today, and forever. Let's pray together,
Heavenly Father, we pray that we will remember your goodness and your faithfulness in every
area of our lives. Whether it be for our healing, for the forgiveness of our sins, for the fact that
there's loving kindness that follows us, for our redemption, and for our healing. Thank you that
you remind us and may we remind our souls that you are a God who blesses us in all ways,
thank you once again, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
