Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and thank you for the opportunity to come to you today, spend these few moments in God’s word and in prayer. This week, we’ve been talking about this subject of dreams and specifically trying to learn how to interpret the dreams that we know God has given to us. We are outlining step by step how we can process the dreams that we’ve received from God. Yesterday, we talked about a very important step, the first step which is to recall and to write it down, write down all the details, all the facts that you can recall from the dream. Our next step in interpreting and understanding the meaning of the dream is to recognize that dreams have figurative parts as well as literal parts. Portions of the dream maybe figurative and there may be portions of the dream which are literal. In Hosea chapter 12, verse 10, the prophet Hosea says about God, he says, ‘I have also spoken by the prophets, and have multiplied visions; I have given symbols through the witness of the prophets.’ One of the ways we see and this we see in scripture and several other places as well is that when God speaks, there are times it will be literal and direct, then there will be times when He uses figures, He uses what we call as prophetic imagery, that means these are symbols, these are riddles or these are figures that represent something. So, when we recognize that in the dream, we are seeing things that are figurative, then we need to interpret what those mean. Now, literal would be if you see yourself, you see some known people or you see known places, you recognize that these are actual people and places and things that you have and belong to you or that are part of your space, those things are literal, you recognize them. Now, if there are things that don’t necessarily fit in that category then you would think about them as figurative. Typically, when you want to interpret what you see as figures, then you always use biblical imagery. So, in interpreting what we see in a dream, things which are figurative, we must always use biblical imagery to interpret what these means. For instance, in the bible throughout scriptures, there are symbols, materials, gestures, actions and even numbers, there are names and characters and events and colors and so on. Throughout the bible you find that they have special meaning. For example, white would represent righteousness, blue divinity and purple royalty and red could represent blood, gold represent something that is divine and so on. As you look at the figures, things in your dream, you use biblical imagery to interpret what they mean. Somethings that we will all recognize very easily, you see snakes or wild animals or wild birds, then typically in the bible these are used to represent demonic powers. On the other hand, if you see dove or lamb, you know that these figures are used in scripture to talk about the Lord and the Holy Spirit. In interpreting, we need to recognize what is figurative and what is literal, then always use biblical imagery to interpret the meaning of what is figurative in the dream. We will continue more on this tomorrow. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for giving us wisdom and understanding, in recognizing when you speak and also in understanding what you are saying to us through the dreams you give us. I pray this wisdom and understanding be imparted to all those listening, thank you, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
