Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Distracted? (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Paul Emmanuel

Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally, where we take a few moments to meditate on God’s word. This week, we have been talking about the choices that we make. Luke chapter 10, verses 38-40, ‘Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore, tell her to help me.”’ In today’s story, we look at Martha and she is often described as distracted. Many of us, in our lives, we maybe walking in the will of God, but somewhere along the line, we may get distracted. Jesus was teaching a group of people at her house and Mary; Martha’s sister was listening to Him. Martha was doing what any good hostess would do, she was making preparations to serve her guest, she was bring a good host but then she complained that Mary was not helping her. Jesus said, ‘Mary has chosen to do what is better.’ What does that mean? Well, Martha was distracted with all sorts of things to do. These tasks were important, they were tasks that had to be done, yet Jesus says that Mary was doing the right thing. Money, school, friends, work, relationships, these are certain things that can distract from being in God’s presence. Martha chose to do what is important, but Mary chose to do what is honorable. She chose to sit at the feet of Jesus and draw from Him. Even as we go through life, let us remind ourselves not to get distracted but to always set our focus on the Lord Jesus Christ for He is the author and the completer of our faith. Let’s pray, Father, we want to thank you, for this beautiful moment you have given us. Lord, from what we read today, we pray that we will be your children who will not be distracted of the things of this world, but we will set our hearts and minds and fix our eyes on you, that no matter what season of life we are in, we will know that it is you who is directing us, that it is your presence that is leading us, we thank you Father. Help us to refocus our attention to you and help us to walk in your will, we give you all the praise and all the glory, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
