Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Devoted (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Nancy Ramya

Hello everyone, thank you so much for joining us as we look at the lives of women from God's word.

Today I want to look at the life of someone who is not spoken too much about. She's probably mentioned in one passage in God's word, but her life makes an impact. This is Anna, let me read for us from Luke chapter two and verse 37, it says, ‘And this woman was a widow of about 84 years, who did not depart from the temple but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.’ And she was one person in the temple who saw the child, Jesus and she was so overjoyed by the fact that God had fulfilled His promise to His people, Israel that He would be sending a Messiah.

The life of anna is such that we see a devotion, we could say unlike people around at that time because Anna if you study a little bit about your background, she became a widow at a young age and then she could have made a different choices, but as per God's call on her life, she was also a prophetess; she made a decision, like Ruth, it's a decision of faith to serve God the rest of her life. And as we just read, she was 84 years old when she finally got to see the face of the messiah. So, you can imagine from the time she became a young widow till she was 84 years old, she was in the temple. What was she doing? We learn that she was serving the Lord through fastings and prayers night and day continually. Anna had devoted herself to praying. She had continually devoted herself to fasting and to just offer her worship to the Lord in this manner; so, we see an unmistakable devotion from the life of Anna. We also see a consistency, all these years, she had been in the presence of God, honoring God and not just that, she was one who was one who rejoiced in God's plans. The moment she sees Jesus, she was so happy because that is something that she, along with all the Jews who had been waiting for all these many years. And one could say that even because of her life of prayer, she was so sensitive to the work of the Holy spirit, that no one needed to tell her that this was the Messiah. She immediately recognized that God's purpose was unfolding before her. So, Anna is a picture of devotion, of consistency and of sensitivity to the Spirit of God. And I pray that all of us could have this in us.

So, let's just pray together, Heavenly Father, thank you for the life of Anna, we pray that you would give us such a heart of devotion, that is committed to your presence, that we will rejoice in who you are and the things that you are doing. Father Lord, we just humble ourselves and commit ourselves to you, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
