Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Develop (Daily Devotional)

Welcome! We are talking about intimacy with God and we’ve been looking at this reality that God has created us for intimacy, He is inviting us to intimacy and this is a journey that we have to make by choice. We need to prioritize God in our lives and let Him be everything for us. Today, I want to talk about developing into this intimacy. There is a passage in Jeremiah chapter 29, verses 12 and 13, the Amplified version, it says, ‘Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you. Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.’ Just reading this passage, it reminds us of Jesus, the way Jesus walked so closely with the Father, where God the Father was a vital necessity for Jesus and so He lived in that intimate relationship with God. It also reminds us of people like Moses and David who talked about walking closely with God, seeing Him face to face, wanting God as that one thing in their lives, their soul thirsting for God, their flesh longing for God. So, how is it that we can get to that place? There is a journey that we have to make and the key word that we see in these passages- seek, seek. It says, you will seek me and then it goes on to say, you search for me. God is reminding us that the initiative is with us. It is only when we seek and search which have to do with the hunger and thirst that we carry towards God, it has to do with how much of God’s presence we want, it has to do with how much we want to learn about God through the word or through the work of the Spirit. The seeking and the searching, is something that God is inviting us to. It is when we seek and search that the scriptures tell us, we will find Him when we seek Him out and we search for Him. There is a beautiful picture of journeying through the tabernacle, from the outer court all the way to the very presence of God in the holy of holies. In a sense, our journey into the presence of God is like that, we keep moving forward, we keep moving ahead, seeking Him, searching for Him and we move from a place of just knowing Him at a surface level to a place where we know Him in a stronger and a deeper way. There is another scripture from James chapter 4, verse 8, it says, ‘Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.’ For intimacy, the initiative lies with us and so we have to take that up, draw near to Him, seek Him, search for Him and gain more of Him. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that though you are this great God, you love to reveal yourself to us, you have revealed yourself through Jesus. Help us make this journey of discovering more and more of you. Help us to draw near to you, in Jesus’ name we ask this, Amen.
