Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and thank you for the opportunity to come to you and spend time each day this week, in a few minutes in God’s word and prayer together. This week, we are going to spend sometime learning on how to release the gift of prophesy or if you want to call it, how to prophesy. Obviously, this is a gift that God gives, it is God releasing His inspired utterance through us but there are instructions that we can follow in scriptures and learn what to do and how to release this gift of prophesy. We are going to spend sometime learning a few things about that. Now, if you want to get into this area, in much greater depth, I would encourage you or point you to a free resource that we have, a publication/ book that we have, if you go to our church website you will find a book, ‘understanding the prophetic’ and that will give a lot more information on this area of Gods working. We are going to learn how we can make ourselves available to release this simple gift of prophesy to minister to people. In 1Corinthains chapter 12, verses 7 through 11, we read about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The bible says that the manifestations of the Spirit are given to everyone as the Spirit wills. So, the Holy Spirit is the one who has all of these nine gifts. As a believer, you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, you got the Holy Spirit upon you and dwelling in you and He has all the gifts, so therefore, you can expect all the gifts of the Holy Spirit to be expressed through you, as long as you are willing to let Him manifest Himself through you. Our part is to be willing and expecting and desiring but the gifts come from the Holy Spirit. He is the source, we don’t manufacture it, we don’t have the gifts but the giver of the gifts is dwelling in us. Therefore, all believers can expect to have all 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit flow through them and manifest through them at varying points of time. We are dealing specifically with the gift of prophesy. The bible tells us in1 Corinthians chapter 12, verse 31 to earnestly desire the best gifts. The bible says in 1 Corinthians chapter 14, verse 1, Paul says, ‘Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.’ In verse 39 of the same chapter, he says, ‘brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy.’ You can conclude form these verses that all believers can prophesy because the instruction there is given to all believers. All believers are instructed to walk in love and therefore all believers are also instructed to prophesy, desire to prophesy. That is the first thing that we must establish, that you as a person who has been baptized in the Holy Spirit, who has the Holy Spirit dwelling in you, you are a candidate through whom the Holy Spirit can release the gift of prophesying. From our side, we have to covet, desire and be willing to let the Spirit of God flow through us in that manner, having no fear but having faith that as He releases the gift, it will truly bless somebody. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for the gifts of the Holy Spirit available to us as believers, to serve, to minister and to bless one another. We make ourselves available, we desire earnestly the best gifts and let all the gifts of the Holy Spirit be manifested through us, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
