Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Daniel (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Jeyakumar Isaiah

Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally, the daily devotional of All Peoples Church. We are glad that you could be here even as we look into God’s word that we might learn and apply the truth of God’s word. Even as we apply the truth of God’s word, we will experience the power of the truth that is there in Gods word. We have been looking at and studying the lives of some of the people in the Old Testament in the bible and today we are going to look at the life of Daniel and what we can learn from him. We are in Daniel chapter 1 and verse 8, it says that, ‘But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore, he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.’ I just want to call our attention to these words that Daniel purposed in his heart which meant that Daniel decided before hand, Daniel preempted and saw that this was the circumstance that would force him to compromise in the ways that he was brought up in, according to the law of the Lord and so he decided before hand, he purposed beforehand in his heart that he wouldn’t defile himself. So, that is something that we learn. Secondly, we go onto Daniel chapter 2, verses 17 and 18, the context is this that the king has a dream and he wants the wise men of the land to tell what the dream was and to give the interpretation. Now nobody could do that, so he decided that if there was no one to come and give the interpretation, they would be executed. This is what Daniel does, Daniel chapter 2, verse 17-18, ‘Then Daniel went to his house, and made the decision known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, that they might seek mercies from the God of heaven concerning this secret, so that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.’ They acknowledged that God was the one who knew the secrets of the hearts of people, that God was the one who knew everything, He is the omniscient one, so they knew that and they sought God. Daniel had godly companions and he surrounded himself with them and this is something that they did together, they would pray together. So, he went and said, lets seek God and His mercies. So, they all prayed together and we see that the answer was made known to Daniel’s heart. So, that is the second thing that we see that Daniel had companions and they were godly and they sought the Lord together. Something else we learn from Daniel’s life was that he was very consistent and disciplined in his walk with God. In this seeking God, we see that there was this pressure situation and they all gathered together and sought God. We can conclude that every time there is a challenging/ pressure, we seek God. But here we see in Daniel chapter 6, verse 10 that ‘Daniel prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.’ We learn that Daniel was disciplined and consistent in his seeking God whether it was good times or challenging times or easy times. Shall we pray? Father, we thank you for these lessons that we learn from the life of Daniel, so also, we can apply these and purpose in our heart and decide beforehand when we know that there will be certain challenges/ temptations that we will decide beforehand that this is how we will walk. We pray that we will seek you with the fellowship of fellow believers, whether these are problems or just gather together to worship, that we will not give up this and seek your face together and thirdly we pray that even as Daniel lived a disciplined and consistent life in seeking you, so also, we pray our spiritual lives will be the same. We pray that you will cause this to happen in our lives even as we ask this in the name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
