Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Contentment (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Jeyakumar Isaiah

Welcome to Living Supernaturally, we're so glad that you could be here. We've been meditating on the words that Paul writes to Timothy in his epistles and we have been focusing on it because these are instructions, these are commands, these are revelations and even practical wisdom that he's writing/ addressing to Timothy. Today, we are looking at 1 Timothy chapter 6 and a few verses from there, chapter 6, beginning at verse 6, it says, ‘now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness and pierce themselves through with many sorrows.’ He's talking about pursuit of reverence, respect and piety for God. He's saying godliness with contentment is great gain. What is godliness? It's a pursuit of reverence for God and respect for God and piety for God. He's saying godliness with contentment, with that sense of satisfaction, not being greedy, not being envious, not being covetous; godliness with contentment is great gain, with a great benefit for the believer. He's talking about those who left that and in place of that desire to be rich. There's nothing wrong with money, there's nothing wrong with riches, it is useful to pay our bills, useful for daily living and in fact, we need it, it's a necessity. God knows it but those who desire to be rich and who are greedy, it says that they fall into temptation and a snare and a trap which drowns man in all kinds of destruction. It says here that those who desire, fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown people in destruction and perdition. So, this is something that Paul is warning Timothy and warning the church which Timothy is leading and he's saying this ought not to be so. He also goes on to say something about money and he says this love of money, it's a root. It's a root system which draws and bears fruit. So, this love of money is a root system which bears fruit and what kinds of fruit? It says that all kinds of evil are the end result or the fruit of this love of money. He says, some in their greediness for money, in their love for money have even strayed from the faith. So, money is good and we need to have it, it's a necessity but people who strayed away from the faith in their greediness for money have actually pierced themselves, he says with many sorrows. So, it's a warning for Timothy, it's a warning for us today in our day and time. Shall we pray? Father, we thank you for this warning, we thank you for these words that we need to be mindful of. Lord, we thank you that your word is a safety net, it's a boundary because you care for us when you ask us not to do certain things. We pray that we will take heed to your word and reap from it, we thank you, we give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’s matchless name we pray, Amen.
