Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to minister God’s word and spend a few moments in prayer as well. This week, we’ve been talking about God’s word and applying it into our lives. Today, we will talk about community and fellowship. Hebrews chapter 10, verses 24 and 25, ‘And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.’ The bible mentions community 85 times and fellowship 94 times. Community and fellowship refer to shared experiences of belonging to a group of people with united, common values, beliefs, interests where individuals, you and I, as believers engage with one another through mutual support, encouraged and shared experiences, fostering a sense of connection and belonging. Essentially, it is actively participating in a supportive network where individuals can grow either spiritually, emotionally and socially. God never intended for His people to be separate. God never intended people to live in loneliness. In the very beginning, God said it is not good for a man to be alone, that has not changed. It is even more important that the followers of Jesus Christ come together. Terms such as family, together, fellowship are all concepts in the New Testament for us to gather together and encourage one another. Fellowship gives us a picture of God. Each of us together shows all of God’s graces to the world. No one is perfect, we all sin but each of us has a purpose here on earth to show aspects of God to those around us. Each of us have been given spiritual gifts. Fellowship makes us stronger so no matter where we are in our faith, fellowship provides us with strength. Being around other believers gives us the chance to learn and grow in our faith. It demonstrates to us why we believe and sometimes it is excellent food for our souls. Fellowship provides encouragement. We all have our bad moments, whether it is a loss of a loved one, a failed exam or even a crisis in faith, we can find ourselves down. Spending time with other believers can often lift us up. They may help us keep our eyes fixed on God. God also works through them to provide us what we need in darker times. I want to close with Hebrews chapter 10, verse 25, ‘let us not neglect our meeting together but encourage one another especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.’ Let’s pray, Father, we want to thank you for the design of fellowship and community. We thank you for the body of Christ, for believers around us who strengthen, help and support us through the different seasons and walks of life we got through. I pray that we will continue to gain strength from each other, to honor, love and encourage one another. We thank you for your word that exhorts us to do this. We commit each one of us into your hands, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
