Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello and welcome to Living supernaturally. We hope that you’ve been enjoying these times of devotion and looking into God’s word, and we hope you’ve been having a good day so far.

Today we are looking at yet another of the prayers that Paul prays over the believers and this time it’s in Colossians. He is praying for the believers in Colossae, we see this in Colossians chapter 1, verses 9 to 12, ‘For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.’ This is the first thing that he prays, he says that since the day we heard about your love for God and the people of God, we do not cease to pray for you and to ask this one thing that you may be filled with the knowledge of His (God’s) will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. So, what is Gods will when it comes to matters of wisdom, of spiritual understanding, pray that you be filled with God’s will, that His desires for you, what He wants for you, the things that He wants you to walk in, may you be filled with that.

Verse 10 says, ‘that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.’ Paul is praying that you may walk worthy of the Lord. The Lord is so good, and He has done so much, and we have received so much in Him. Paul is saying, let your life be something that reflects that; you walk worthy of this great God, walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him and being fruitful/ successful in every good work, increasing in the knowledge of God. This is something that is God’s will for us is that we would be fruitful in every good work and in everything we put our hands to. The things/ good works that God has already prepared for us, that we would discover it, walk in it and be fruitful in it, as we fully please the Lord. As we do so, may we increase in the knowledge of God. This passion and pursuit of the knowledge of God, (it’s not just information but revelation what the Holy Spirit and God Himself teaches us from His word), is for every believer. Many times, we fall short of this, we say we know a little of this and that and that is enough for me, well Paul’s prayer is that you would keep on increasing in the knowledge of God. Lastly, he prays in verse 11, ‘strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy.’ Paul is talking about the supernatural strength and ability of God. Paul is telling us to be strong in it and may it be seen in your life, let it be seen for all patience and long suffering with joy. Let it come through, in patience and long suffering- this supernatural power of God, let it reflect itself in Christlikeness.

Shall we pray? Father, we thank you that we can pray these prayers and learn from these prayers, we pray that we will be filled with the knowledge of your will, and we will continue to grow in wisdom and all understanding and in the knowledge of God and we pray that we will also be strengthened with the power of your might. Let your power be displayed in our lives even as we reflect Christlikeness to others, this we pray in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.
