Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Cleansed (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Ashish Raichur

Greetings! Thank you once again for the opportunity to come to you today and spend this time with you in God’s word and prayer. We trust that this week’s mediation- the vine, the vinedresser and the branches in John chapter 15 is encouraging your heart, illuminating truth, and encouraging you in your spiritual walk.

In John 15 and verse 3, Jesus said ‘You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you’. Now Jesus is addressing something that has already happened and is happening in the lives of His disciples. We need to translate this to us today. In the preceding verse Jesus said the vinedresser prunes the branches so that it can be more fruitful. Right after that, in talking about that pruning process in verse 3 Jesus says, ‘look you are already clean because of the word that I have spoken to you’. In other words, Jesus is telling His disciples- this pruning involves the removing of unnecessary things, has already been happening in you, by the words that I have been speaking to you. What does this mean for you and me? It means that as we continually listen to the word of God, that pruning is taking place in our lives. The pruning of God as mentioned yesterday is so that we can be spurred for growth or removing things that are dried up/ unnecessary so that we could bear more fruit. And Jesus reveals to us that this happens by the word He speaks to us. how does God prune us? By the word He speaks to us. As we receive God’s word, it brings about a cleansing, a removing/ cutting off of unnecessary things. This shows us how important the word of God is. So, as you and I intentionally open up the Scriptures, read it, meditate in it and listen to it be taught, let that word impact our lives. As James says ‘we receive the implanted word, we receive the word that is intended to be sown into our hearts then that word cleanses us, it removes/ washes the unnecessary things out of our lives. For instance, as you are reading the word of God, you read a certain passage and God speaks to you and me saying you need to forgive those who offend us. Maybe we are carrying offense in our hearts and it’s this very offense that is acting as dried pieces in our lives and this prevents fruitfulness, and as we read the word of God, God will remove those offenses and cleanse us. Therefore, we are released from the things preventing fruitfulness in our lives and we can continue to be more fruitful. But remember this, God’s word is one of the main tools God uses to cleanse, prune us so that we can be more fruitful. Continue to open your heart and lives to the Scriptures. Let’s pray, Father we welcome your work in our lives through your word, that we are cleansed by your word so that we could be more fruitful. Do your work in us by your word and we receive your word Father in Jesus name, Amen.
