Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello everyone, thank you for joining in. We continue on the theme of healing. Today, we will to talk about healing as the children’s bread. We have a reference to healing as the children’s bread in Mathew chapter 15, verses 21 to 28, it is the incident when the lady who is not part of the covenant or not a Jewess who comes to Jesus and her daughter is afflicted severely by a demon spirit. She reaches out to Jesus and makes a request for the deliverance of her daughter. Jesus, we know Him as this compassionate person, however, in this situation, He is quite stern and He reveals to her that He has only come for the sheep of the house of Israel. He says something like, the bread cannot be given to the dogs but what He was trying to tell her and what she actually understood in those times, I’m sure she got it right away what Jesus was trying to tell her. Basically, what Jesus was saying is, here is a lady who is in need but she is outside of the covenant so, even if Jesus wanted to, it was difficult for Him to release that healing/ deliverance she was looking for. However, look at the faith of this lady, in verse 27 of Mathew chapter 15, she says, ‘And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”’ She extends her faith to Jesus and says, this children’s bread which you are talking about, who are the children? The Jews or the people of the covenant are the ones who have this bread which is healing but this woman extends her faith and says, Lord, even the dogs have the crumbs and then Jesus goes on to commend her faith and says, ‘O woman, great is your faith.’ Then there is a release of the power and her daughter is delivered. The point that we gain out of this incident is that when we are in the covenant, Jesus said, that healing is the children’s bread. We know that earlier, those who were the seed of Abraham were part of the covenant. However, now, each one of us who believe, we are part of the better covenant that Jesus has accomplished for us. Now that we as believers are part of the covenant, the children’s bread belongs to us. We are the children and the bread that Jesus talked about was healing and deliverance or the power of God to set us free, bring wholeness to every part of our being. I just want to encourage us that the power of God is available for us to receive by faith. All we have to do is to press in by faith just the way this lady, she didn’t let go off Jesus but she extended/ demonstrated her faith by what she said and Jesus was so pleased with her and said, great is your faith and you will receive the deliverance and her daughter was healed. Even as we extend our faith right now, I believe that God’s power is being released into each one of our bodies and souls. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that the children’s bread is ours. We claim it in the name of Jesus and thank you that we are children of the covenant and that healing will be made manifest in our bodies. We give you thanks and praise, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
