Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and thank you for yet another opportunity to come to you today. It is wonderful just spending time in the word of God and praying together and being encouraged in our walk of faith and in growing in the things of God. This week, we are talking about speaking and praying in tongues and how it benefits us and how wonderful this gift is God has given and made available to every child of God. I want to remind us that this is one of the ways that God has given to us to be built up, strengthened spiritually. We said a couple of days ago that this is one of the ways God has given to us to be refreshed and renewed spiritually. Yesterday, we talked about the fact that it enables us to pray and speak things beyond our own mind. Today, we learn that it is a way by which we can be built up spiritually. 1 Corinthians chapter 14, verse 4, Paul wrote, ‘He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself.’ In Jude chapter 1, verse 20, Jude said, ‘building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,’ As we speak or pray in tongues, what are we doing? We are edifying ourselves or we are building ourselves up spiritually. It is like in the natural, we are built up, we feed ourselves, we exercise, and we are strengthened. The same thing happens to us spiritually when we pray or speak in tongues. We are edifying and strengthening ourselves, we are building ourselves up spiritually. If you want to imagine or visualize it, you can think of recharging your batteries, or building up a building, whatever way you want to imagine it, your inner person is being strengthened as you pray in tongues. I encourage you, pray in tongues often, pray in tongues a lot, pray in tongues whenever you get a chance because your spirit is being built up, you are being strengthened. Whenever there is a need, you can draw out of that charge, you can draw out of that strength you have built into your spirit, just by praying in tongues. It is a God given way for us to strengthen ourselves spiritually, use it as often as you can. Father, thank you for giving us this wonderful means by which every child of God can be built up spiritually. If there be anyone listening right now, who hasn’t started praying or speaking in tongues, may that be released in them and may they experience this in their lives, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
