Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotional for Spirit filled living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotional is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotionals around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all devotions end with a daily prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotional messages are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello and thank you for tuning in to today’s daily devotional. It is always a joy to be able to spend these few moments in the word of God, just encourage our hearts to His word, turn our attention and mind to the Lord and just pray together. This week, we are reminding ourselves of this wonderful experience and joy of being able to pray and speak with other tongues as given by the Holy Spirit to every believer. I want to remind us of one tremendous benefit of praying with tongues. It enables us to go beyond our own mind. 1 Corinthians chapter 14, verse 2, the apostle Paul said, ‘For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.’ The apostle Paul is clarifying or is explaining to us that when we are speaking or praying in tongues, we are actually communing with God, it is you and God, me and God, I am talking to Him enabled by the Holy Spirit. It is in the Spirit, meaning the Holy Spirit is giving me the words and the language and the Holy Spirit is helping me pray to the Father God. It says we speak mysteries; mysteries mean it is things we don’t know about, it is not a mystery to God because God knows everything, it is a mystery to us, we don’t know, our mind doesn’t know but the Holy Spirit knows it and He is lifting up a prayer through us to God. What a powerful thing it is! When you don’t know about your own future, pray in tongues, when you don’t know how to solve a problem, pray in tongues. When you don’t know what to do, pray in tongues, when you need wisdom, pray in tongues. Why? Because the Holy Spirit is going to help you speak and utter things to God which your mind doesn’t know about, but He knows. As you pray, you can be sure God understands it, you are praying beyond your own mind and you addressing the problem you are praying about. You say, Lord, I don’t know how to pray over this situation, but I am going to pray about it in tongues and you start praying in tongues. The Holy Spirit knows how to pray about that. You say, Lord, I don’t know about my future, but I’m going to spend some time praying over my future in tongues and the Holy Spirit will lift up that prayer for your future. Whatever situation you are facing or whatever is on your mind, say Lord I will pray over it in tongues, and you are praying beyond your mind for that matter. How amazing it is! The wonderful thing is that as you are praying in tongues, very often you begin to get an understanding of those mysteries because the reason we are praying those mysteries is not to inform God, He already knows it. We are praying these mysteries for our benefit and the way we benefit is by getting an understanding of those mysteries. So, you begin to understand the mysteries of God concerning that situation, as you pray in tongues. What a wonderful gift! Thank you, Lord, for giving this to us. Help us to pray and understand mysteries, things which our mind doesn’t know about the things we face, about our future. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for helping us, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
