Hello and we are so glad that you could be here on Living Supernaturally, the daily devotion of All People's church. As we look into God’s word, we see that the Lord wants to fill us. The Lord fills us with goodness, joy, peace, His Holy Spirit and the Lord does this so that we might overflow and experience the supernatural work of God for our own lives personally and also overflow to influence and impact others. So, as we have been meditating, today we are looking at Acts chapter 4, verses 29 to 31, where the disciples after being threatened by the religious leaders of their times, they come together and pray. Now the disciples have been threatened not to speak the name of Jesus, not to teach what He has done and prohibited from doing that and have been threatened with dire consequences if they do that. So, they gather together and they pray. Acts chapter 4, verses 29 to 31 says, ‘Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.’ This was the prayer that in the face of the threats and dire consequences for standing up and continuing in what was called ‘the way’, the teachings of the Lord Jesus, they pray and ask the Lord for boldness to continue to speak His word and testify. It says that when they prayed, they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. God chose to pour out His Spirit upon all of them and they were filled with the Holy Spirit and it says here, that as a consequence or an outcome of that, they spoke the word of God with boldness. This is what the Lord Jesus promised them to tarry and wait in Jerusalem that they might be filled with the Spirit so that they can be witnesses to Him of the resurrection in several places- in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the earth. This promise we see coming true as they were filled with the Holy Spirit and they spoke the word with boldness. So, maybe today, there is a need in your life to be filled with the Spirit so that you can be bold and courageous and definitely all of us face such moments and we need the courage and boldness of God. He is more than willing to touch us today and fill us today with His Spirit so we can speak boldly and courageously, not with arrogance but with humility and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Shall we pray? Father, as the disciples prayed, we pray today that as your desire is to fill us with your Spirit, fill us today that we might abound with hope by your Spirit, speak your word with boldness and courage. In the face of danger and threats, may we continue to speak your word with humility, grace and love in our hearts and enable us to speak with boldness and courage, we thank you, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
