Beauty Of Holiness (Daily Devotional)

Hello everyone, what a joy to be back together with you. We’re talking about the holiness of God. Whenever we talk about anyone, there could be a couple of characteristics of that person that stand out and those characteristics define that person and those characteristics help us adore or appreciate that person a lot. So, when we consider our God, we know that God in His nature is a God of love, He is a God of righteousness, He is a God of justice, power, and there are so many different facets to the nature of God but one of the main parts that stands out to us is the holiness of God. The holiness of God is central to the character and nature of God and it is the very essence of who God is and every other characteristic or the nature of God is connected to this central part of Him being holy. This is what scriptures tell us, let’s read from Psalm chapter 29, verse 2, it says, ‘Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.’ God is holy and holiness is at the core of who He is and there is a beauty attached to holiness. As we encounter and understand the holiness of God, as we see the holiness of God, we can’t but worship. Everyone in scripture that has encountered the presence of God in some way or the other. We have accounts of Isaiah, Moses encountering God and every time that happened, they were in awe of who God is and His very presence because there is a beauty attached to the holiness of God, there is a splendor attached to the holiness of God, there is majesty attached to the holiness of God and there is grandeur, magnificence, perfection, excellence attached to the holiness of God. So, as we think of God and we go ‘wow’ about the nature of God, one of the things is His holiness. As we see this holiness of God, every part of our being is in awe and it says, wow this is who God is, this is how glorious He is. So, the glory of God is so connected to His holiness and we need the knowledge of the holiness of God and the knowledge of the holiness of God is what will enable us to worship Him rightly, to serve Him rightly and to live for Him. I just want to read one quick verse here, Proverbs chapter 9, verse 10, which says, ‘The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.’ Let’s seek after the knowledge of the holy one and the beauty of His holiness and it is powerful what this revelation of God’s holiness can produce in us and through us. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you for helping us understand that your holiness is beautiful. Even as we recognize this beauty, we know that we will be able to reveal that holiness and beauty through our lives. Help us to keep seeking after this revelation, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
