Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally. We are so glad that you could be here, where we could study the word of God, meditate on it and apply it. The word of God is so real and we can apply it in our real-life situations and find answers, solutions, strength to overcome and also there is so much of comfort and encouragement in the word of God. Today, we want to look at this theme of ‘be strong’. The bible talks about ‘be strong’ and gives this instruction in several places and we are looking at one of them today. We are looking at 2 Timothy chapter 2, verse 1, which says, ‘You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.’ This is Paul’s instruction to Timothy and he says, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. He says, be empowered, be strengthened, be enabled in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. What is this grace that is in Christ Jesus and how can I be strong in it? We know that grace is unmerited favor. We also know that grace is divine character, the character of God Himself. We also know that grace is divine empowerment or enablement. In all these areas, Paul writes and he says, be strong in the grace that is available in Christ Jesus. For us to really start off, we need to have a deep understanding of what is this grace that I have in Christ Jesus. What are these things that have been freely given to me or made available to me in Christ Jesus? Starting with salvation and the various gifts that are available and everything that we have freely received in Christ Jesus. So, first of all, to have this understanding that it is freely given - salvation, the anointing of the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the revelation that comes from the Holy Spirit about various things in the word of God, it is given freely. We need to be obedient, expectant and stand in faith but it is given freely, it is the finished work of the cross of Christ. He has done the work and we are the recipients of the grace of God. It is something that is given freely so we don’t have to earn it by our good works or do anything. Secondly, we need to acknowledge these free things that have been given to us in Christ Jesus. To acknowledge it and be aware of it is to be strong in it, is to make these things part of our lives. Philemon verse 6 says, ‘that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.’ Can we do that today? To be strong in the grace that is available in Christ Jesus is to be strong in what is freely given to us. To acknowledge that we don’t deserve it but it has been given it and to be aware of every good thing that we have in Christ Jesus. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for the grace that has been made available for us. We thank you for the divine enablement and character we can grow in- Christlikeness and we thank you for everything that has been made freely to us. Today, I pray that each one of us will recognize and acknowledge it in our lives, make verbal declaration of it in our lives and therefore the very living of our lives, the sharing of our faith will become even more effective than it is today. We thank you, give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
