Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Anxiety (Daily Devotional)

Hello and welcome to Living supernaturally. We are glad that you could be here today even as we look into the word. The word of God is so powerful, its alive, its living and the best thing about God’s word is that it gives us an antidote, its like a medicine that counteracts the poison that could create some kind of toxicity in our body or bring damage to our body. Proverbs chapter 4, verse 22 says that God’s word is life to all who find them and health to all their flesh. In this series, we are going to be looking at the antidote that God’s word provides for certain things that could be damaging to our spiritual lives, as believers. So, the first thing we are going to see is anxiety - God’s antidote for anxiety. Anxiety in the life of a believer is preoccupation, it is like worrying, being preoccupied with our thoughts, not being able to focus on the present and on what needs to be done. Anxiety creates that in a believer’s life. So, it’s very frustrating that you want to do something, but you are not able to focus because there is anxiety, and we are being preoccupied. Anxiety also takes the joy out of a believer’s life. God has called us to have the joy of the Lord and experience His joy every day, but anxiety takes that out/ drains that. As believers, we have the peace of God, and we are called to enjoy the peace of God, but anxiety takes that out.

So, this is what we read in Philippians chapter 4, verses 6 to 8, which says, ‘Be anxious for nothing’. In others it is saying whatever reason may arise or cause there maybe to cause us to have anxiety, don’t be anxious. So, we might say, that it’s very easy for you to say but very difficult for me to carry it out. Let’s read on and see what the rest of the passage say. It says, ‘but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.’ Now that’s the antidote. So, we go before God and whatever reasons/ causes there might be arising for us to be anxious, by prayer and supplication, in fact the word used there for prayer is a set place for prayer like a regular place for prayer. So, it’s a regular occurrence, we take it to God in prayer and supplication which means requests. All these requests and prayer we take it to God with thanksgiving. Which means that we go there before God with gratitude or with grateful language. We thank God for the promises that are there, thanking God because He is there and He will intervene, being grateful to God for His promises. So, we go before Him, with prayer and supplication and thanksgiving and we make our requests known to God. Verse 7 says, ‘and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. So, if we would do this on a regular basis- prayer, supplications with thanksgiving, make our requests known to God, it says that the peace of God will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. So, the word used there is a military guard, an armed guard. This piece of guard will be like a military, security at the entry point of anxiety. It will guard our hearts and minds through Jesus. So, let’s pray today and ask God to give us this antidote and let’s put it into practice and experience the peace of God. Father, we thank you for the key that is here in your word that we can get to pray, we can bring our supplication requests before you with thanksgiving, grateful language and gratitude in our hearts and we thank you that your peace will be like a security guard and will guard our hearts and minds from all kinds of anxious thoughts and anxiety and your peace will rule and reign in our hearts. We just want to thank you and pray that even as we apply it today, may we experience the power and the truth of what we have seen today. We thank you, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
