Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello everyone, welcome! Thank you for joining once again. We're talking about leadership and today, I want to talk about some of the abilities that a leader needs to have. It's great to have a good heart as a leader but in order to lead people it's also going to take some abilities, some capacity from our side and efforts that one needs to put in. Let's firstly read from Romans chapter 12, verses 6 to 8, ‘having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.’ This passage is talking about various grace gifts that God has given people, where people can function, one of which is leadership. So, there is a grace gift of leadership that people get function with. We know that not everyone may carry this leadership ability the way this passage is talking about but to some extent know all of us can lead others now when God is calling us to lead and gives us the grace to lead others. One thing that we notice in this passage is lead with diligence, that means that one must be willing and intentional to lead others well and it's going to take some effort, it's going to take some building of capacity to do this well. So, what are some of the abilities that will help a person lead well? Firstly, to be able to have a vision, receive a vision from God and then the ability to communicate the vision clearly to people, to be able to organize and plan, set goals for oneself personally and the people and once the goals have been enlisted, to be able to execute things well and lead people as they are trying to do various things and make it happen. So, a leader's heart and ability both become so very important in causing the fulfillment of the plans that God puts in a leader's heart. Apart from this, there are some other the qualities like the ability to work with people because leadership is about people and leading from the front and so one needs to develop those skills to be able to communicate with people and work alongside them and make things happen. The next ability would be to nurture and develop people, to identify the calling of God on their lives and guide them in that path and to help them become leaders in their own sphere. A good leader needs to have eyes to see this and guide the people. Some of the other important abilities would be to be able to make decisions and sometimes many decisions and make them well, make them quickly, that's an ability that one needs to develop, to have a walk of Integrity themselves, be excellent and the ability to rise above challenges. There will be challenges as we lead people to do what God is calling us to do but a good leader would develop themselves to rise above these tough situations that can come our way. Finally, one very important ability is the ability to keep learning and keep growing, it's when we are growing that others are inspired to grow with us. So, may we pray that God will help us to develop ourselves in all these abilities and be good leaders. Let's pray, Heavenly Father, we thank you that the grace to lead comes from you. We pray that we will equip ourselves with all the abilities that we need to do this well and we ask that you will help us, that you will strengthen us, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
