Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you once again for this opportunity to spend time together in God’s word. This week, we will be talking about consecration and today, we will talk about a consecrated mind. 1 Peter chapter 1, verses 13 to 16, ‘Therefore, prepare your minds for action, be self-controlled (or: sober minded), set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do, for it is written, “Be holy because I am holy.”’ Notice the key word in this passage, repeated four times, the word ‘holy’. Most people will misunderstand the word holy as being good, kind, generous or loving. As it is, a holy person does all of these good works, he reads his bible, he prays, he helps people but holiness is something deeper. It has a deeper and more critical meaning than just being good. Holiness means being set apart, being consecrated from what is common, typical or ordinary. Several places in the New Testament, we speak about being sober minded. In 2 Timothy chapter 4, verse 5, Paul exhorts Timothy to be sober minded, endure suffering, do the work of the evangelist to fulfill your ministry. The term ‘sober minded’ literally means free from intoxicating influence. More broadly, being sober minded means that we do not allow ourselves to be captivated by any type of influence that would lead us away from sound judgement. The sober minded individual is not intoxicated figuratively speaking and is therefore calm under pressure, self-controlled in all areas and rational. Being sober minded Christians are to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit eliminating foolishness, mind numbing silliness from our lives and allows us to focus on what is real, what is inspiring and what is eternal. The mind is at the center of all our behavior. A mind transformed by the renewing of the Holy Spirit and the enlightening of the Holy scriptures will resist the values, goals and temptations of the world. If the world can get me to think like it thinks, then it can get me to behave like how it behaves, but a mind that is totally surrendered, Spirit renewed and biblically armed will be able to live a life completely consecrated for God. Let us all pray and ask God that He would renew our mind, that we will walk the mind of Christ each day of our lives. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for this time and your word that exhorts us. We pray that you will continue to renew our thinking. We surrender our minds, our plans, our purposes, we pray that you will lead and guide us, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
