Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and thank you for giving us this opportunity to come to you this week and spend time with you each day, a few moments in God's word and prayer. Depression is something that a lot of people struggle with. For some of us, it could be a temporary low, we just go down and we just bounce back up right away and we're back to where we were and we keep moving forward. For some of us, it could be an ongoing struggle and this week we want to address this area from the word of God. Now at the very beginning, I do want to make it clear that for some of us we may need some extra help. So, while we are going to learn and apply some of these insights from the word of God, we would always encourage you to reach out to somebody, a professional, a therapist, a counselor or sometimes a doctor who can help you also deal with what you're going through. So, we will apply the word of God, live by the word of God, do what the word of God says and if you need additional help, please we encourage you to get it and you will eventually come to a point when you may be able to wean yourself of that additional help and just live by the word of God but that's a journey each one of us will need to make and understand what we need as individuals. What we're going to do is discover from God's word insights that will help us with these feelings of being very low or what we call as being depressed. So, the first thing we must understand is to recognize what is the root cause that is triggering these feelings of depression, of sadness, of being low, gloomy, weighed down or almost coming into a place of hopelessness and so on. The Bible tells us in Psalm chapter 42, the entire psalm is a powerful psalm but repeatedly in Psalm chapter 42 the psalmist says, ‘why are you cast down, O my soul? Hope thou in God, He is the health of your countenance and your God.’ The psalmist is recognizing what we would refer to as this feeling of being cast down, this feeling of being depressed, of being low. Why are you cast down, O my soul? he is recognize something is not right in me, I'm feeling low, I'm feeling cast down and then he's encouraging himself to hope in God. But starting with this recognition, why am I feeling cast down? Why am I feeling low? Understand those reasons and many times, as we converse with God, as we talk to God and pour out our heart to Him like the psalmist did, we will be able to recognize, we will come to realize that these are the things that are causing me to feel low. Sometimes, we may need the help of a therapist or a professional to help recognize it, why art thou cast down O my soul, but it's important to put your finger on the cause. Let's pray, Lord, we come before you today, we thank you that you are the restorer of our souls, you are the Lord who is our shepherd and you restore our souls. You bring us back to a place of strength and vitality and energy and wholeness even in our soul, our mind, our emotions and this week as we journey through the word of God, we ask that you will truly restore the soul of many of the people watching and listening, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
