Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Shalom, we are glad that you have joined us today to look at another way that we can please the Lord. I'm sure it is each one of our heart's desires to please the one we love and when we do claim and we know that we love God, we want to please God and warm His heart. Today, we are looking at another way of pleasing God, is by walking in the light. Reading from Ephesians chapter 5, verses 8 to 10, ‘for you were once darkness, but now you are the light in the Lord. Walk as children of light, for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth, finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.’ God calls us to find out what pleases Him, and this scripture emphasizes that we can please God by walking in the light. Scripture shows us that God is light. It shows that there is no darkness in Him. We know that God is not just likened to light, but He is light. We also read that Jesus is light, He says it in scripture, and He says, ‘I am the light of the world and whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.’ So, we know God is light, we understand Jesus is light and as a result, as His disciples, He plans for us to shine His light because God is light, His plan is that we also walk in that same light. If we revisit that verse, we spoke about Paul says, you are light in the world and therefore because you and I are light in the world we should live as children of light. Because when we live in that light it produces fruit. What kind of fruit it? It says in that verse it produces goodness, righteousness, and truth. So, to walk in light means to know God, it means to be in a right standing with Him and it means to live in truth. If we do not walk in light, we do not know God, which means we are in enmity with God, which means we displease God but when we walk in the light, we are keeping ourselves away from that darkness. We are keeping away from that which causes pain and a burden for God's heart. So, remember that you and I do not have to earn favor, but because Christ has already done it for us, you and I can walk in the light. He is pleased with us when we choose Him, when we choose to do things that are of Him and as we walk in the light, may we see that the fruit will grow in us, that of righteousness, of truth and of goodness. We walk in the light because He is in the light, and this is what pleases the Lord. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, we praise you for the scripture that shows us that you are light, that Jesus is the light of the world and because of His light, we have life. Father, help us to live in the light, to have the darkness not dominate us, but to live gloriously in the light that you have given us, because we know that as we walk in the light, it pleases you and we bear much fruit. May we choose to always live a life of light, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
