Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Thanks for joining us today on Living Supernaturally, our daily devotion, where we take time to look into the word of God. We’ve been studying the word of God about the walk of a believer and a disciple and how we need to live our lives, conduct and regulate ourselves. Today, we are going to look at another aspect of it that our walk is an example. Paul talks about his walk, his life and how that is an example. We look at some aspects of how we should not walk and how we should walk. Let’s look at Philippians chapter 3 and verse 17 ‘Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.’ He is saying, join in following my example, you see the way I walk and walk in the same manner. You see the way those who walk in similar manner, not those who so walk and you have us for a pattern and the pattern is that we follow that example. Look at that pattern so that we can pattern ourselves according to that same pattern. He goes on to say certain things we need to avoid; this is in verse 18. It says, ‘For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:’ Verse 19 says, ‘whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things.’ He is very particularly talking about the kind of walk to avoid. He is saying that their end is destruction because their god is their belly, they live for the appetites of their body. They are the enemies of Christ. He is saying that these are probably people who are there in the church and who are probably influencers but the way they walk is according to their own appetites and they are enemies of the cross of Christ because they do not please God in the way they live. They set their mind on earthly things. Their mind is always filled and it is aligned to carnal things, earthly things, fleshly things and not on things that would be in the will of God and please God. What is that walk that he wants us to walk? Now that he has mentioned the things which you should avoid. If we back up to verse 12, he says this, ‘Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.’ He is saying, I press on that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me, that is the way/ pattern to follow, to press on, no matter what and to lay hold of that. Maybe it is a call, it is a purpose, its responsibility, its ministry something that for which Christ has lay hold of. Then he goes on to say in verse 13, ‘I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.’ It could be accolades, accomplishments, it could be things that we regret, disappointments, pain of the past, he says, I forget those things and I reach forward to those things that are ahead. In this way, we are called to walk. Today, as we have this invitation and exhortation, let us put it to use in our daily life. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you that you have called us to walk in this manner. We thank you for the example that has been set by people who followed you diligently, who pressed on, no matter what, forgetting those things that are behind them and reaching forward to those things that are ahead. Lord, they laid hold of that, that calling, that responsibility for which you laid hold of them. So, God, we have them as examples and you are exhorting us today to walk in such a manner, enable us to do that today, even as we live for you wherever we are, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
