Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Faith (Daily Devotional)

Hello friends, so glad to have you listen to this devotional. We are talking about overcoming, being victorious as we live our Christian lives.

Today, I want to read for us from 1 John chapter 5, verses 4 and 5, ‘For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?’ We are told here that we who are born of God, we are able to overcome the world. What does the term the ‘world’ refer to? The term ‘world’ encompasses sin, the influences of the environment around us, it also refers to rebellion that we see around us, the world is representative of all that. John, in his epistles also pointed out that there are the attractions of the world that try to distract us and draw us away from God, which would be the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life. All these things cannot take us away from the purpose of God for our lives. It is a greatly encouraging thought that we will not be shaken no matter what tries to take us off track, we will stand firm and steadfast in what God has called us to do.

Friends, I just want to encourage us that God has given us His great promise of stability and said that we who are born of God, that we will overcome the world. In the world, we also have the spirit of the antichrist, the spirit of deception, the spirit of error as John points out in his epistle, but despite all this, we can run the race and we can finish the race strong. In this passage, I want to bring our attention to an overcoming aspect, the end of verse 4, it says, overcome the world- our faith. We are to depend on our faith to overcome all the things that I just listed out, faith is what causes us to overcome, faith is what causes us to stay anchored in God. Just think about Abraham, he is a wonderful example of faith, he stood on the promise of God for a very long time and when he stood in faith, the promises came through for him. Similarly, friends, for us to overcome, there can be many things that come our way to shake us all up, but like Abraham, can we be firm, stay strong in what God has spoken and His promises? When we do that, we will see that we are taking one overcoming step after another. I pray that this would also be your journey.

Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you, for you your word and the examples in your word. We pray that we will be people of faith and through faith cause us to overcome anything that the enemy is hurling at us, we declare that we are overcomers, we declare that greater is He who is in us, than he who is in the world, and we give you all the glory, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
