Hello friends, thank you for joining in and giving your time to study about the victories that have been given to us in scripture.

Today, I want to talk about authority, such an encouraging thought that we have authority in Christ Jesus. When Jesus sent out His disciples, this is what He told them, in Luke chapter 10 and verse 19, He said, ‘Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.’ The word, ‘authority’ there in Greek is ‘exousia’ which again refers to entrusted authority which helps us overcome the enemy. There is another word that follows in the same scripture which is ‘power’, and this word power is ‘dunamis’ in Greek which refers to strength. We see that the Lord Jesus has given us authority and He has also given us power over the demonic realm. That is what He was telling His disciples and later we read that they went out, they cast out demons, and they came back rejoicing seeing the power of God and understanding the authority of God.

Today, I want to remind us that we carry the same authority, and He gave this authority to all His children, and we can walk victorious, and we can live an overcoming life through the authority which the Lord Jesus has given us. There is another beautiful passage in Ephesians chapter 1, verses 20 to 23, where we are told that we are seated with Christ in the heavenly places. This again shows us that in the spiritual realm, our position is with the Lord Jesus which is a position of authority. Where is Jesus right now? He is in heaven and so spiritually, in Christ Jesus, you and I are right now seated in the heavenly places and as you look at the following verses there, we are told that He has placed the Lord Jesus as head over everything and put everything under His feet. The Lord Jesus is the head, the body follows, He is the head, and the church is the body, we are the body, if everything is put under the feet, it means it comes under the head and it is also under the body. So, I just want to remind us that we, as the body of Christ are trampling and we are standing over every power of the enemy and we have to remind ourselves time and again that we are victorious, we are the ones who are in the camp of the victory and it is the enemy who has been defeated on the cross, continues to be defeated and he has been put under our feet. We must live an overcoming life based on all these realities.

Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you, for the truth of your word, thank you that we are enlightened to live a transformed life, to live a victorious life and we pray that this will be a reality in our everyday experience, thank you for doing it, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
