Hi everyone, welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much once again for this opportunity to minister God’s word and pray together. We’ve been talking about transformation and how God transforms our lives, day after day. Today, we will talk about transformation that comes through trials and tribulations. 1 Peter chapter 1, verses 6 through 9, ‘In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.’ Each one of us would have gone through trials and tribulations or maybe you are going through one right now. Transformation is something that comes as God allows us to go through certain trials and tribulations. He is also interested in our character and holiness than our happiness. Trials include hardship, distress and adversity. God wants to examine us to see how we are and to show us what we are like. The purpose of doing this is to cause us to be better and to make us more Christ like. Trials are a natural part of Christian life. Our faces should not look like we are going through a trial, when we are going through one, instead, we glory in the trial and know that something good is going to happen going forward. That endurance produces character, character produces hope and hope does not disappoint, giving us the assurance that Christ will see us through. We don’t rejoice in the trial but at what it will produce in us. If the church is not tried, it will not be strong. God’s empowerment for transformation often comes through struggle. We may reach a point in our life that we are so hurt, so much so that we have to change. Our faith is refined by fire so that it becomes like gold. Sometimes, we ask ourselves ‘where is Jesus when we are going through all these trials? The answer is, He is right there, He has given us the strength, He is carrying us, He is praying for us and when the heat comes through the trials and tribulations, we must run to God and not run from God. Let the trials and tribulations that come, work in our lives and know that we will be victorious going forward. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for taking us through seasons, seasons of joy and hardships, seasons of trials and tribulations. I pray that you will empower us during those seasons to know that we are to live by faith and not by sight, that the outcome of the trials and tribulations is that you are making us more like you, you are changing and transforming us into your likeness. We thank you for your word and your presence in each of our lives, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
