Hi everyone, welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity once again to minister God’s word and pray together. This week, we’ve been talking about transformation and the many ways God transforms our lives. Today, we are talking about transformation from the inside out. Luke chapter 19, verses 9 through 10, ‘And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”’ Luke chapter 19 illustrates the story of Zaccheus. The story of Zaccheus beautifully captures the message of the gospel and the transforming power of God’s grace. Zacchaeus wasn’t a popular person at that time. As a chief tax collector, his job was to collect taxes for the Roman government. This profession was notorious and corrupted. Not only was he a man of great wealth based on the job he had, but he may have well been a lonely, rejected man in society. Zaccheus was small in stature as well as small in character. But when he found out that Jesus was coming, he wanted to see Jesus so he climbed up the tree. As Jesus approached, he picked out Zaccheus and invited Himself to the man’s house. Certainly, this would have upset the people, but Jesus saw something in Zaccheus that only God can se. He saw the man Zaccheus could become. Zaccheus’s transformation was dramatic. His salvation came not because he returned large parts of his riches but because he received the grace and mercy of Jesus that changed his life forever. His transformation was public and personal and urgently important. The transformation of his heart progressed, but the people around Jesus were probably disgusted. From sinner to seeker to follower, Zaccheus became an example of changes that takes place because of Christ in our life. Yes, the same thing happens to each one of us. There is a change in our heart that leads to change in character and change in behavior. David found courage and strength to fight Goliath and he later became the king. Jonah found courage after God intervened through the use of a fish. There are people who God has changed not only in one area but in every area of their lives. However, they were transformed entirely because of God’s word and God’s goodness. They were able to find peace, courage and strength. Jesus is still in the business of transformation. Luke chapter 19, verse 10 says, ‘for the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.’ This rang true for Zaccheus 2000 years ago and it does so much even now in the 21st century. Has He transformed your life yet? Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for your word, we thank you that even in our failures and sin, you still choose us, you still call us as your children. We thank you for your transformational power in our lives. I pray that we will continue to seek you, grow more like you. We thank you for your grace and your mercy on each of our lives, we give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
