Greetings once again and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to spend time in God’s word and a few moments in prayer. This week, we’ve been pondering on God’s will for our lives. Today, we will look at the power of patience. Proverbs chapter 16, verse 32, ‘Better a patient person than a warrior.’ Some of us by nature may not be patient. Perhaps, it was missing a connecting flight by two minutes, having to stay at the airport for another day, standing in line at the supermarket or even a traffic signal. Lot of experiences have reminded us that our time table isn’t governed by us anymore but by God. But is patience really important and why does patience matter? It is not that God loiters or wastes Hi time. Whether it is the fulness of time in sending His Son or the moment when Christ returns again, God’s timing is impeccable. Can we trust that the one who sets the cosmic calendar can bring His sense of timing into our own lives? From Proverbs, we can see that the strength of the patient person exceeds that of a warrior. Waiting for God is tougher than taking matters into your own hands. What does patience look like in action? Patience doesn’t complain or murmur about the circumstances. Patience doesn’t act in haste. Patience develops perseverance and perseverance; hope and hope doesn’t disappoint. By waiting patiently, we are developing godly character and allowing the fruits of the Spirit to develop more fully in each of our lives. When we are waiting patiently, we are to continue to praise and thank God. We do not give up on the vision that God gave us. We do not let go of the promise. Thankfully, patience is one of the fruits of the Spirit that is already inside of us. It is a free gift from God given to us when we were born again. All we have to do is tap into it and begin to exercise it like a muscle and that patience will grow stronger in you. Let patience have her perfect work so that we lack nothing. Therefore, be patient and trust God and He is indeed going to bring it to pass. Time is not your enemy; it is your friend. God is well able to preserve you by renewing your youth like the eagles so that when He brings it to pass, you are just as strong and energetic as before. God did this with Joshua and Caleb, they were forty years old when it was time to take the promised land. However, because of the unbelief of the Israelites, they were unable to get in. Therefore, God simply preserved their bodies so that for the next forty years, when it was time to take the land, it was as though their bodies hadn’t aged. At eighty years of age, they were just as strong and healthy as they were when they were forty. Time mixed with faith and patience will help build you in strength, in character and wisdom. Fulfilling the will of God for our lives is not a one-time event but a process. It will require faith and patient endurance. When you start in faith, you must continue in faith. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for your word and the fruit of the Spirit is patience. I pray that each one of us will be patient to understand that you are in control over our lives. Even as we wait, we wait with great joy knowing that you are working in our waiting, that you will fulfill every plan and purpose that you have for our lives. We thank you; we give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
