Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

The Head (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Jeyakumar Isaiah

Hello and welcome back, we hope you've been having a great day. I just wanted to thank you for being part of this daily devotion, Living Supernaturally which is the daily devotion of All People's Church. We're going to look at God's word and we've been studying about the kind of revelation that He gives about Himself so that we can be strengthened and we can walk in faith. In fact, just like how the Lord asks Peter the question, who do you say that I am? The Lord I believe would ask us this question who do you say that I am? What is the revelation that you have received in your heart about who I am. Scripture talks about one such revelation about God through which our inner man can be edified and strengthened which is found in Colossians chapter 1, verses 18 and 19 which says, ‘but He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, and that in all things he may have preeminence. For it pleased the father that in him all the fullness should dwell.’ So, here verse 18 it says that He, the Lord Jesus is the head of the body, the body being the church. The church being the people of God. We know that the church is not a building but a church is the people of God and the Greek word ‘Ecclesia’ which means the called out ones who are sent with a purpose. The called out ones who gather with a purpose that is to honor God, to praise Him and to represent Him, the ministry of Jesus in that particular place wherever they are gathered, so that's the church the Ecclesia. So, the body of Christ, the believers, we are the body but who is the head? The head is the Lord Jesus so He is the head which means He is the boss, the chief, He is the preeminent one, in Him all things consist and all things come together. So, the body receives from the head the following things, instruction, physically that is what it does. So, also for all of us as believers, we receive from the head instruction for life and godliness, instructions for the living of the day, we receive from Him. The body receives commands from the head to do what it needs to do, all functions it receives the command from the head. So, also us as believers, we receive our daily commands, moment by moment, commands from the Lord, commands that protect us, commands that move us into what we need to do, commands that that tell us to step into those open doors and step into those opportunities, commands that reign us in that tell us not to step there or step into certain things because there is danger. So, the body also receives strategies from the head, so also us as the church, as believers, we receive creativity, inspiring strategies to do what we need to do, we receive inspiration and we receive everything, a sensitivity to all that's happening around, the body receives from the head. So today, if Jesus would ask us who do you say that I am, we can confidently say Lord, you are the head of the body of which I am part of. Shall we pray, Father, we thank you for this understanding that you are the preeminent one, you are the pre-existent one, that you are the head of the body and Lord may we receive from you instructions for life, may we receive from you commands that propel us into the destiny that you have for us that protect us from the dangers. May we receive from you strategies and inspiration and ideas and may we receive from you and may we continue to respect, honor and worship you as the head of the body, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
