Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Steps In (Daily Devotional)

Hello everyone! Trust that you are doing well. Glad to have you back on this study; we are looking at the life of Jesus, His mandate, His mission, and the fact that He has commissioned His people to go and do the works that He has done for us.

Today, I specifically want to consider the fact that the Lord Jesus is somebody who steps into our lives, and various circumstances of life and shows His glory in those circumstances. In His earthly ministry, there were times when He met people at their point of need and performed a miracle. In Luke chapter 5 there is a miracle recorded of a bountiful catch of fish, it was a miraculous catch because you see that Simon, a fisherman, he was fishing all night and found nothing. However, at the words of the Lord Jesus, who is not from a fishing background, He still gives Simon instructions, and He says, ‘put the net on the other side’ and Simon follows those instructions, and he finds a miraculous catch of fish. We see here that Jesus met Simon at a time when he was going through a low and failure, he could have also been at a place where he was questioning his calling and training, he was in a place where he could have thought about what was going on in life, but at that very moment, you have Jesus coming in with His power.

Sometimes it only takes an instruction from God to see a miracle and in this case, Jesus told him to put his nets on the other side and then it happened. Even when we are going through challenging circumstances in life, we see in James chapter 1 and verse 5, it asks for us to call upon God and seek His wisdom and when we ask Him, God is somebody who gives it to us and then the miracle takes place. In our lack, in our shortfall, let’s not come to a place where we are pitying ourselves and we are fearful about the future, instead just call upon Jesus and Jesus who did a miracle for Simon is able to do a miracle for us. I also just want to encourage us, there is a passage in Mark chapter 5, we read about a certain woman who had a flow of blood and she was suffering with this for twelve years, she went to various physicians but to no benefit because she continued to suffer from this condition but then we read that Jesus was in her town and then she goes after Jesus and she touches the hem of His garment. Scripture tells us in Mark chapter 5 and verse 29, ‘Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.’ Jesus performed a miracle, immediately something that she had been suffering for, for several years, stopped in a moment. There was a turn around and a breakthrough in a moment and that is what happens when we invite Jesus into our difficult situation. I just want to pray together with us, and I believe that you too will experience the breakthroughs of Jesus in your life.

Let’s pray, Heavenly Father, we know that you are a God of miracles, of turn arounds and breakthroughs. I pray that each of us will experience your breakthrough in our given situation. Thank you that you can bring in your abundance and thank you that the oppression that has been taking place for many years can be stopped in a moment. We speak your victory and I pray that you will be exalted and glorified, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
