Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Stay Away (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Ashish Raichur

Greetings and thank you for the opportunity to come to you today and spend these few moments in God's word and in prayer. This week, we're talking about overcoming pornography. The next step in this journey is to stay away. In Psalm chapter 101, verse 3, the psalmist said, ‘I will set nothing wicked before my eyes.’ in 1 Thessalonians chapter 5 and verse 22, the Bible says, ‘stay away from all appearance of evil.’ So, this is a deliberate choice we make. God has given us something called the will, sometimes we use the term will power. God has given us a will which means it's the ability for you and me to make a deliberate choice. God has given you a will, He's given me a will, that means I can make a deliberate choice. Now the will may be weakened or may have been weakened because of what we intentionally yielded to but that's where we can start making a different choice and the more you make the opposing choice, the stronger your will becomes in order to do the right thing. So, at least one, you begin with the smallest step that you can take, you choose to stay away from every appearance of evil. Like the psalmist said you choose not to keep any wicked thing before your eyes. So, whether you're walking outside, you see a billboard, some sign or you pick up the newspaper and you see something there or some magazine or sometimes on a phone or a computer, wherever you tend to watch pornography, you stay away, you say, I will not set anything wicked before my eyes, I will stay away from all appearance of evil. You take it out, close it, put the newspaper away, put the magazine away, change what you are watching on your computer or your phone, just take it off, stay away from all appearance of evil. Now, you got to start with small steps, every time you say no, you're strengthening your will, you're becoming stronger in your ability to say no. So, every step you take matters and that's what staying away means, I will set no wicked thing before my eyes. You say that and you begin to practice it, one small step at a time. Let's pray, Father we ask for the strength we ask you to strengthen our will so that we will set no wicked thing before our eye, that we will stay away from all appearance of evil, wherever this evil appears to us that we'll just walk away from it, shut our eyes to it, turn away from it, refuse to give it access into our lives. Strengthen our will to take the steps we need to take, each and every time, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
