Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Selfless (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Nancy Ramya

Hello, everyone, I'm so glad to be back with you. Today, we will look at the life of Esther and see what we can learn from her.

Let's read from Esther chapter four and verse 16, it says, ‘go gather all the Jews that are present in Susa and observe a fast for me; Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maids also will fast in the same way, then I will go in to see the king (without being summoned), which is against the law; And if I perish, I perish.’ and those are the words of Esther and I read it from the Amplified version.

As we understand, Esther was an orphan girl whose past, (we don't know too much about her past), but just the fact that she was in this difficult situation where she did not have parents, but thankfully one of her cousins became her guardian and he took care of Esther. God orchestrated things in Esther's life in such a way that from obscurity, God brought her to the limelight for His purposes. And the story unfolds that, Esther became a queen in the palace and at a time when a decree went out to destroy all the Jews; on behalf of the Jews, she needed to approach the king and we saw in the verse that we read that she decides that she would go meet the king to make her request. Now in those days, if someone went to see the king or enter the presence of the king without his desire or his permission, the answer was that they would be killed. So, she knew that approaching the king meant that she would either die or if the king had favor on her, she would get to make her point. And so, we see Esther becoming that queen who is taking a risk for the purposes of God,

Now, here are a couple of other things that that we see from the life of Esther. We see that our difficult past, is no indicator of our future. When we put our faith in God and when we are led by the counsel of God, we really don't know how God is going to lead us, but one thing we know, as God promises that He has good plans for us, plans of hope, plans of the future. And that's exactly what God did in Esther's life. He gave her a good future and she even became a queen. We see that she was a wise woman, she heeded advice. There are instances in her life when she could have made her own choice, but she would listen to the instruction of her mentor. So, she asked, Hegai, the person who was taking care of her and she took the opinion of advice of Mordecai. She was somebody who wanted to take advice, she was wise. And today we know that God's word is our source that we go to, and she really depended on God for her deliverance. That is why she calls out for a fast because she understood that if God didn't move on her behalf, her efforts would mean nothing. All of this inspires us to put our trust in God in the times that we live in now.

Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, we pray that your deliverance will be released through our lives the way it was released through the life of Esther. Thank you for her obedience and we pray that you will help us to be obedient in the things that you call us to do. We just want to surrender ourselves for your purposes, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
