Hello everyone, thank you so much for connecting once again. We’ve been on this journey of understanding a devoted heart, the features that a devoted heart has. Today, I want us to think about a seeking heart, a heart that goes after God, a heart that is interested in hearing the voice of God, a heart that is interested in knowing the heart of God and what God really wants. When we look at the life of Jesus, we know that He had a seeking heart because He would always try to connect to the Father. He would always try to be in sync with what the Father wants. We know that Jesus made statements such as ‘I only do what I see the Father do’. He was somebody who sought the will of God and He yielded himself to that and things happened in His life and in His ministry. Even for us today, seeking the heart of God should be the kind of heart that we carry. When we look at Leviticus chapter 6 and verse 13, this is talking about the tabernacle and it says, ‘a fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out.’ In the initiation of the early tabernacle, we know that as a sacrifice was placed upon the altar, the fire came from heaven and that fire became the source in the tabernacle and it was God ordained for this fire to be lit and continue to burn in the tabernacle without it going off. This fire is a symbol of our worship, it is a symbol of our prayer, it is a symbol of our seeking God, our heart of devotion towards God. Something that we can learn from this fire which should never go off in the tabernacle is the fact that that’s the kind of love or fervor that God is really looking for in each one of our hearts towards Him. As we seek Him, I just want to encourage us, let’s have a heart that will not find its satisfaction anywhere else but in the presence of God. Looking back at church history, we find times where people sought the Lord and they didn’t give up. The Moravian revival is a wonderful example and we can trace it back to the 1700’s. In a small community in Herrnhut, Moravia, we find that a group of people began to pray and they began to seek the Lord and through prayer they were devoted to God and they were petitioning God, seeking God in various ways, worshipping the Lord and we know what happened. There was a prayer movement that began through this small community which lasted of about 100 years. We know that through that came a missionary zeal that many people were sent out of this community, missionaries were sent to many parts of the world and the work of the kingdom progressed. Even as we seek, one thing is that our relationship with God will be strengthened, the other thing is that there are all these outcomes which we will experience because of our heart that seeks the Lord, prays and worships, that is grounded and rooted in God. I just want to encourage us to seek the Lord and be passionate about it. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we ask that you will give us a heart which seeks after you in a passionate way. Let nothing else take your place in our lives, in Jesus’s name, we pray, amen.
