Hello and welcome, you are watching Living Supernaturally, the daily devotion of All People’s church. We’re so glad that we could be studying the word of God together. In fact, the bible says, blessed is he who delights in the word of God and there is so much that happens because a person delights and keeps the word of God. Today, we are encouraged to delight in the word. We are looking at this theme ‘seek and pursue’, seek- go after with an intention of acquiring something. Today, what are we called to seek? Today’s episode, we are looking at this particular thing that we are called and instructed to seek the Lord and His strength. Psalm chapter 105, verses 3 and 4 says, ‘Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord! Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!’ There is this rejoicing that comes about, our hearts rejoice when we seek the Lord. Specifically, the bible says in the psalms to seek the Lord and His strength and His face. We see three things to seek here, which means to follow, pursue, to search. By implication it means to seek, ask and could also mean to worship, to make enquiry and so on. We are called to seek the Lord. We see three things, we are called to seek the Lord Himself, the person. Secondly, we are called to seek His power which means His strength. Thirdly, we are called to seek His face. When we say seek His face, it literally means to seek His presence. We are called to seek the person of the Lord God, His power and His presence. What happens when we seek the person of the Lord? The word of God says that He is the God of hope and comfort, that He is the Spirit of revelation and wisdom. So, when we seek the person of the Lord God, there is wisdom and counsel which is available for us, there is hope and comfort that flows from Him to us, there is an impartation of that when we seek Him. When we draw near to Him, He draws near to us. We are called to seek His power, there are breakthroughs and deliverance available when we seek His power and it is scriptural to seek His power. Sometimes, we think it is wrong to seek the power of God, we should always seek the person and presence of God and not power. Well, scripturally it is not so, we are called to seek His power also. We are called to seek His strength because His strength can do the impossible, can bring deliverance and give breakthroughs for what we have been contending in faith. Third thing we see is to seek His face which is His presence. In His presence, there is fullness of joy, refreshing and pleasures forever. So, we are called to seek it. He will cause our hearts to rejoice even as we do so. Let’s pray even as we seek to do this, Father, we thank you for this instruction and the blessing that comes with it. We thank you that even as we in faith obey, there is this blessing that pursues us, the power and the favor that we experience in our lives just because we are obedient and we follow your instruction in our daily life. We thank you for this opportunity, we give you the praise and glory, in Jesus’ matchless name we pray, Amne.
