Greetings and thank you for the opportunity to join you this week and spend some time each day in God’s word and in prayer. This week, we are going to talk about sowing and reaping. This is a very important topic in scripture. It starts right from chapter 1 in Genesis and goes on throughout scripture, so it is important for us to understand this important principle that God has placed here on this earth and that we understand it and walk according to the principles of sowing and reaping. Today, I want to talk about seed time and harvest. In Genesis chapter 8, verse 22, God makes an amazing statement, He says, ‘While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.’ God is telling Noah in Genesis chapter 8, as long as the planet is there, there are something that will never be altered and one of the things He mentions is seed time and harvest, that means these principles of seed time and harvest will continue as long as this earth remains. So, understand this principle that God has put this on this earth and He has put it in place for our benefit of course. We immediately understand this in the context of agriculture. A farmer knows seed time and harvest, he knows what is the right time to sow seed in the ground, how long it is going to take, how to take care of the seed in the ground, when the harvest will come and so on. But we must understand this principle in every aspect of life not just when it comes to agriculture or farming which of course is one part of it but this principle of seed time and harvest applies to every area of life as we will see, as we journey through this week. Here are some things to understand about seed time and harvest. You can only have harvest if you first have seed time. You cannot have harvest without seed time. Without sowing, one cannot reap. Without putting seed to the ground or letting seed go out of your life, you cannot have a harvest. So, if you want to have a harvest, you must have a seed time. There is no such thing as a harvest without seed being sown. What is a seed? A seed is anything that leaves your life. You can have the seed and consume it, but you choose to keep some of that seed aside and release it from your life. You have to let it go out of your life. The farmer sowing the seed, leaves his hand but when you release that this seed it leaves your hand but it doesn’t leave your life. It leaves your hand but it is actually going into your future because that seed is going to produce at some time in the future. So, the seed that leaves your hand doesn’t leave your life but goes into your future. Another important thing about seed is this, the seed is in the fruit. In Genesis chapter 1, when God created all the vegetation, He said every plant and tree bears fruit with seed in itself, that means the seed is in the fruit and don’t eat your fruit with your seed. Enjoy your fruit but remember the seed is meant to be sown. For example, you can look at your salary that you receive form your work as your fruit but the seed is in the fruit. There is a portion of that you sow or give away so that it can be there for harvest in your life. Think about these things- seed time and harvest, we will talk more tomorrow. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for this principle that you’ve put here on this earth. As long as this earth remains, seed time and harvest will keep working. Help us to employ this principle for your honor and glory, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
