Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Welcome back friends. We are talking about praise and the power of praise and we looked at the fact that praise is our verbal declaration of who God is and how mighty He is. Today, we're going to look at the fact that praise is a sacrifice. Here's a scripture for us from Hebrews chapter 13 and verse 15, it says, ‘therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.’ In the old covenant, the people of God made physical sacrifices, they had animals that they would take to the altar and in that manner they offered sacrifices to the Lord, but in the new covenant, we do not see the need to do this because the Lord Jesus Himself has become our perfect sacrifice. Here in this verse, we read that with our praise we can offer a sacrifice to God. So, our praise is a new covenant sacrifice. There are many sacrifices that we can offer unto the Lord which is pleasing in His sight, we offer our own bodies, we give to others, that is a sacrifice, but also our praise, the fruit of our lips, it's a sacrifice unto the Lord. So, whenever we praise God, let's remember that this is going before the Lord as a sacrifice. Another reason why praise could be called as a sacrifice is because sometimes, we may not feel like praising God, it can be extremely difficult in the current circumstances to say that God you are a good God because things around us maybe such that we are struggling in our emotions to think of God as good. But we know from scripture that God is always good, no matter what is going on in our lives, He is there for our rescue. So, in difficult times when we choose to praise God, what we are making is a sacrifice. We're saying God, even though I don't feel like it, even though I do not understand what is happening around me yet I am praising you O God because you are worthy of my praises and God you are unchanging and Lord, that as I praise you, I know that you will intervene in my circumstances. So, church praise is a sacrifice, whether we feel like praising God or we don't feel like praising God, He is worthy. Many hymns bring this truth out so beautifully, where writers have said that even if we use up all the ink in the world, we cannot praise our God enough, even if there were 1000 tongues given to us, we couldn't praise our God enough. He is so worthy and so let us not lose a moment to praise this good and Almighty God. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, you are an awesome God, you are mighty indeed O God. Father, we pray that you will enable us to recognize your beauty always and keep giving you thanks, keep giving you praise because you are worthy and Lord unto eternity, Lord, we will keep praising you, you deserve all our praises, we bless you, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
