Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello and greetings! Thank you for giving us this opportunity to come to you today. This week, we are learning how to release the gift of prophecy, how to prophecy. We said that first we must ask God for the prophetic gift or a word of prophecy. Second, listen and receive that word as it comes into our spirit and the Holy Spirit bears witness to us, He speaks to us in our spirit through the faculties of our spirit. Third, once you get that word, you and I must release that prophetic word that means communicate that word to whoever we are supposed to communicate. The bible tells us in 1 Thessalonian chapter 5, verses 19 to 21, ‘Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good.’ When you receive that understanding, that knowledge, as you pray and ask God, most often God will give you a word, there maybe times when you don’t find anything coming in your spirit, that fine, just keep quiet. But usually as you pray and say God what are you saying? Most often there is a word that comes into your spirit and you pick up in your spirit what God is saying. Now you will have to communicate that. Don’t quench the Spirit, that means don’t suppress it. When you know that the Holy Spirit has put something in your heart for that person or people, don’t suppress or don’t quench it but get yourself ready to communicate that. Remember the bible says that the spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet, that means it is in your control. The Holy Spirit gives you the inspiration, but once it comes into your spirit, then your spirit and how you take it forward from there is in your control. The spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet. What is not in our control is the giving of the word. The giving of the word comes from the Holy Spirit. All we can do is to desire for it. But once we get it, then it is up to us how we communicate. There are simple guidelines, you and I can follow. When we communicate, speak in simple language, so that the people can understand. Communicate it in a simple way, you don’t have to shake and jump and scream in order to give a prophetic word, just talk the way you normally talk. Speak kindly, compassionately, clearly, communicate what you see, you don’t have to scare the other person by saying ‘thus says the Lord’, just speak gently into their lives. Tell them what you have received in your spirit, make sure they understand what you are saying and let them receive it, let them understand what you are communicating, what you have received in your spirit, speak it simply. So, release the prophetic word. Sometimes, you may need to write it down and then give it to them in writing or you may want to send it as an email or a text message; there are different way that you can get that message across, that fine. Whatever opportunity you have or means to communicate you have, do it. Most importantly, keep it simple understandably, succinct, you don’t have to make it long and lengthy and make sure that the person you are speaking to, understands. Use the language that will help them understand. Remember, that is in your control, how you communicate it is in your control. Let’s pray, Lord, we pray that you will give us grace to speak what you will reveal to us clearly, in a way that will bring edification, comfort and exhortation to those who hear, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
