Daily Devotional church in Bangalore
by Ps Ashish Raichur

Greetings and thank you for joining us today on these few moments that we are going to spend in the word of God and prayer. This week, we’ve been reflecting and drawing insights on how Mary responded to the word that was brought to her by the angel of God. we see in Luke chapter 1, that as the angel who brought her the message, of course, Mary’s initial first reaction was Luke chapter 1, verse 34, ‘How can this be, since I do not know a man?’ in other words, this is just too much and naturally speaking this cannot happen. That is Mary’s initial response. The angel goes on to explain to her that this word is not going to be dependent on her. It is going to be fulfilled by the power of Go coming on her. The power of higher shall come upon her and the Holy Spirit will overshadow you and that holy thing that will be born is called the son of God. so, the angel tells her it is by the power of God. the angel continues saying in verse 37, ‘For with God nothing will be impossible.’ Mary’s response in verse 38, ‘Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” She received His word. She didn’t reject it. Her mind couldn’t comprehend it, her mind is telling her this cannot be but she believed it, she rejoiced in it, she recognized God’s purpose in it, she recognized the mercies of God, the faithfulness of God and she received the word. she said, its for me, it will happen, be it unto me according to your word. So, that is a challenge for all of us. when God speaks to us through Hsi word, we are talking about the holy scriptures or a word given to us personally by the Holy Spirit, we must receive that word and say, let it be unto me, let it happen in my life. I believe it will happen and I’m receiving it, embracing it and taking it as my now. Receive that word even as Mary did. In Luek chapter 1, verse 37, when we look at the word which the angel spie to Mary, when the angel said, with God, nothing will be impossible, the literal translation of that statement is, what no word from God shall be void of power. The Passion translation says, not one promise of God is empty of power for nothing is impossible with God. Not one word form God is void of power. So, receive that word knowing that every word of God is full of power to be fulfilled. Let’s pray, Lord, we receive your word that you speak to us in our life situations, we receive it knowing that every word is full of power to be fulfilled, thank you, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
