Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and thank you for this opportunity to come to you today and spend a few moments in God’s word and just pray with you. We are talking about marriage preparations and sharing some insights concerning marriage, to help those who might be preparing for marriage and of course this comes as a reminder for those of us who are already married. In Genesis chapter 2, verse 24, right in the very beginning of the bible, we have this very powerful and synched description or verse concerning marriage, it says, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.’ This is right after God brought Eve to Adam and in that context of Adam and Eve coming together, this scripture was given – a man shall leave his father and mother. In order to enter into marriage, there has to a leaving of father and mother, that means it doesn’t mean we abandon or disconnect, that is not the implication. The implication is that in order to prepare to enter in to being married, being united with your spouse, the man and this applies to the woman as well because obviously both the man and the woman are entering int that state of being married; the man or the woman leave their father and mother, that means that relationship which they enjoyed so long in their lives, is now going to become secondary to the relationship that they are going to have, going to build in their marriage. This is something we must learn and understand, i.e., while we continue to honor, respect, and relate to our parents and other extended family, the uppermost human relationship now becomes the one with your spouse. Some of us readily make this transition, in some cases, this doesn’t happen. The outcome when this transition doesn’t happen is usually conflict and problems because God’s order and design for marriage is not being followed. When the husband or the wife continue to still hold onto their parent’s apron string, so to speak or the umbilical cord is not been cut, so to speak and the relationship with their parents is still uppermost in their lives, it is going to result in conflict in the marriage. So, as you prepare for marriage, you must prepare to leave. It means practically, you become financially independent, emotionally, while you honor, respect, and relate to your parents, you are ready for another relationship which is going to become more important in your life. So, practically, emotionally, in every way you are preparing to leave and that is very important. Let’s pray, Father, we ask for grace to receive the truth and the wisdom that your word imparts to us, especially in the area of marriage, that you will speak and minister to those preparing for marriage and for those already in it, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
