Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally, we're so glad that you could be here today for this daily devotion. Today, we are meditating on the words of Paul in the letter to Timothy and we find that there is encouragement, we find that there is instruction, we find that there are commands that we ourselves can apply in our lives. So, I'm reading from 1 Timothy chapter 2, verses 1 to 4, Paul writes and he says, ‘therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of things be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of truth.’ Now, we see several things, Paul writes and he says, these can be made, he's talking about different kinds of prayers, he's saying supplications which means requests or petitions, then he's talking about prayers, an earnest oration, something that is addressed to God, then he talks about intercession, it means a meeting in which we are praying or taking the needs of others and bringing them before God. So, he says supplications, prayers and intercessions let these be made for kings which means leaders of people or lord of the land, kings and also for all those who are in authority. Now, it is popular for us to sometimes complain against rulers, complain against kings and those who are in authority but Paul is writing and he is exhorting and he's saying, you need to pray. Sometimes, we speak against, we complain but he's saying, you need to pray and this is something all kinds of prayers need to be made for those who are in authority. He is saying the result or objective of this is that we might live quiet and peaceable lives. So, he's saying you need to do this and the main thing is that it is good and it is something that is acceptable in the eyes of God. This is good, meaning it is virtuous, precious, commendable and it's also approved and it's acceptable in the eyes of God. So, in verse 8, he says, ‘I desire therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and without doubting.’ So, lifting up hands meaning reaching out to God, in surrender to God that's an act of surrender and that's an act of saying God, I'm depending on you, I'm reaching out to you. And he says without wrath because the wrath of man, the anger of man does not justify or does not produce the righteousness of God and he saying, without doubting meaning in faith. So, let's pray for our leaders, let's pray for our government, let's pray for those in authority that God may do something in their hearts even today. Let's pray, Father, we thank you Lord that you've exhorted us to do this, to lift up those who are in authority, to pray for kings, those who are leaders and to lift them up to your throne of grace. We pray even for our leaders today that that you would work on their hearts, that you would give them wisdom, that there would be righteousness, peace and justice in our land, we give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’s matchless name we pray, Amen.
