Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello and welcome to Living supernaturally. We hope you are having a good day so far. Today, in this episode, we are studying the prayers that Paul prayed over the fellow believers/ people who he ministered to. There is something that we can learn from this, we can pray specifically these kind of prayers over our own lives. The things that are addressed and petitioned here can be something that we address and ask God ourselves.

We are looking at Philippians chapter 1 and a couple of verses from 9 - 11, ‘And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment.’ Paul is praying over the believers in Philippi, and he prays that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and all discernment. If you notice, in the earlier verse, he thanks God when he remembers them and here, he is praying that their love for God and people and the things of God will increase. With that increase, he prays they will abound in knowledge and discernment. This is something that he prays- knowledge of the word of God and the person of Christ and here he is talking about experiential knowledge and not just information, that they would know to choose the right thing, that they would know what is right and what is not right, that they would increase and abound in discernment.

Verse 10 states, ‘ that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,’ With the discernment and increase in knowledge he prays that they may be able to approve those things that are excellent, which means, make a choice, receive that into their own lives- things that are excellent, noteworthy, characteristics and virtues will be part of their lives, that they will open up and receive it in their own lives. He also prays that they may be sincere, without offense, no hypocrisy and not hold onto any offense which will make their lives bitter, not hard hearted but tender hearted towards God and people.

Lastly, he prays, ‘being filled with the fruits of righteousness.’ That they will be filled with the outcome of the works of righteousness. The word ‘being filled’ means to be completely filled, there is no space left. He says let your life be filled with/ show the works of righteousness and let it be part of your life. So, these things we can pray over our own lives, we can address it and pray that my love for God and people will abound more and more, that my knowledge in the word of God, in the person of Christ, in spiritual things will increase more and more, that I would increase more and more in discernment, you can go ahead and pray that. You can pray this over your children, over your spouse and family members as well.

Let’s take some time to pray right now, Father, we thank you for these deep truths that we can pray for. We know that even as these are in line with your word, we can pray and expect to see these things being made manifest in our lives. We choose to do that today, may we experience and walk in the reality of it today and in the days ahead, we give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
