Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and thank you for the opportunity to come to you today and spend these few moments in the word of God and prayer. This week, Christmas week, it is a wonderful time for us in worshipping God, celebrating Jesus and spending time with family. This week, we are meditating on the Lord Jesus as the prince of peace. We want to understand how we can dwell in the peace that Jesus gives to us, which He administers to us and which He provides and fills our hearts and minds with. The prophet Isaiah mentioned this in Isaiah chapter 9, verses 6 and 7, he said, ‘For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.’ Isaiah is speaking prophetically announcing who Jesus Christ is, who this Son is and what He would do. He is really speaking about the birth of Jesus and foretelling about the millennial reign of Jesus when He is going to rule literally on the earth, talking about the government being on His shoulder. We understand that that aspect of the prophet of Isaiah has not been literally fulfilled, in the sense that Christ has not yet sat upon the throne of David physically and literally and is not ruling and that is going to happen as we understand in Revelation chapter 20 onwards; Jesus will rule on the earth for 1000 years. That literal fulfillment is still out in the future, it is a prophetic word but he called Jesus, this Son, this child that is born as the prince of peace and how can we experience His peace today in our world? One of the important things we must understand is that we can have peace because He is the prince and He reigns. Isaiah said of the increase of His government and His peace, there will be no end, that means His peace, when it is administered by Jesus, is so dominating, so all powerful, it supersedes everything else, of the increase of His government, His Kingdom and His peace. The dominion of His peace surpasses everything else and so we can be in a place of peace when we recognize that He reigns and He rules and His peace supersedes everything else. So, when you are in a moment, if something that disturbs your peace, troubles you and brings fear, look at Jesus as the one who reigns, who is above those circumstances, who is greater than the storms, the winds and the waves that maybe coming against you. Those winds, waves and storms can be intense but the one who is with you, He is the ruler and king and His peace supersedes all of these things. So, you look to Him and say, thank you that you reign in the midst of all of this and that your peace fills my heart, surpasses these storms, winds and waves. Remember He reigns and therefore we can have peace. Let’s pray, Lord, we acknowledge you as the ruler and king and the potentate, the One who is above the winds and waves and things that trouble us and cause fear. You are King and Lord and of the increase of your peace there will be no end. So, let your peace flood our hearts and minds stronger than the winds, waves and storms, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
