Greetings and trust that you’ve been having a wonderful week, rejoicing, celebrating with family, friends and giving thanks to God for the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. This week, we are reflecting on Jesus as our prince of peace and how we can live in the peace that He gives to us. In john chapter 16, verse 33, a verse we read a few times this week, the Lord Jesus said, ‘These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.’ What Jesus is bringing to the attention of His disciples is, I have spoken all these things to you, actually chapters 14, 15 and 16, Jesus has been telling His disciples many things. He has talked about the mansions in heaven, the Father’s house, the coming of the Holy Spirit and the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of His disciples, about the union His disciples would have with Him and how that union would be so close that through His disciples He would still continue bearing fruit and He has spoken though the disciples to us how we can pray and ask the Father and the Father will answer prayer and He has spoken of the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit to the world and believers and many of these things, then He has spoken about His coming again. All these things, He said, I have spoken to you so that in me, you may have peace. So, this teaches us something that the way Lord administers His peace to us is through the things He has spoken to us, His word. So, you and I pay attention to His word, what are the things God has spoken? For us, we understand the Holy bible, Genesis to Revelation, God has spoken and His word administers His peace to us. These things I have spoke to you so that you can experience this peace that is in me. So, the word of God is something we hold on to, we focus on in the middle of a troublesome world, in the midst of all the trails and storms and the things that go around us, we focus on His word. We keep our mind on His word, we keep our gaze fixed upon the promises of God and in the things He has spoken to us. We hold onto those things, His word so we can experience the peace that He provides. In every situation, learn to focus on the things He has spoken to you, His word. Keep your eyes on His word, hold onto His word that you and I can experience the peace that is in Him. Let’s pray, Lord Jesus, we thank you for the things that you have spoken to us, the promises, the things that you said you would do. We thank you for the work and ministry of the Holy Spriit that all of this enables us to experience the peace that is in you and may we live and walk in that peace, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
