Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and thank you for this time and this opportunity to come to you and spend a few moments in the word of God. This week, we have been talking about healing after abuse or trauma and just bringing us a few insights from the word of God that can be of help to us. It is very strange and yet it is very true that a person who has gone through abuse or trauma, if they are not careful, they could easily tend to go back to, either the same past situation or similar situations and that is very unfortunate. Something that is not repaired, it will often be repeated. So, sometimes while the process of repairing is going on, the process of healing is still taking place, the person who has gone through abuse or trauma has the tendency of repeating or falling back into the same mistake. Maybe going back to the person who was previously the abuser or going back to situations that made them vulnerable to the hurt, trauma, or abuse. It is very important for us to remind ourselves not to go back. In Psalms chapter 85, verse 8, the psalmist said, ‘I will hear what God the LORD will speak, for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints; but let them not turn back to folly.’ The psalmist is saying I’m going to intentionally listen to God because God is going to speak peace and wholeness into my life, but I must not go back to foolishness. So, while we are journeying into wholeness by looking to God and receiving His word that brings us wholeness, one of the things we must determine, is not to go back to foolishness, not to go back to any of the past things that actually exposed us to that abuse or in some cases the trauma that we went through. You must purpose in your heart, I’m not going back but I’m choosing to listen to God and God alone because He will speak wholeness, peace, shalom into my life. One of the areas we have to be very careful, is to not revisit the past mentally. While it is important not to revisit physically, obviously, we must be careful not to revisit things mentally. Don’t let your mind take you back in the past, that’s where you need to purposefully repaint pictures on the canvas of your inner imagination. Paint pictures of who you are in Christ, paint pictures of what God is speaking to you, paint pictures of the wholeness that is available to you through the cross of Jesus so that you don’t go back even mentally to the past and God will bring healing to us through His word. Let’s pray, Father, we ask for your empowering, not to go back, never to turn back or look back but to look to you because you speak peace and wholeness into our lives. Help us to receive what you speak to us, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
