Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Shalom and we are so glad that you are here today to listen to God’s word, to meditate on His word, to be encouraged by what we are teaching and mediating on. We’ve been looking at the last two days on encouragement. We looked at the first day on how we could be encouragers and also saw the way that Paul described encouragement as a gift. Today, we look at encouragement as a ministry of the Holy Spirit. We would be glad to know that encouragement is a ministry of the Holy Spirit and we read that in John chapter 14, verse 26, ‘the Helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name will teach you everything and make you remember all that I have told you.’ We read that encouragement is a ministry because it uplifts and builds up the body of Christ. This is related to the person and the work of the Holy Spirit. If we look at the original language for the term for helper or comforter, the word is paraklet and this means to come alongside and the word encouragement comes from another form of this word. Just as a friend might come alongside another whey they are in trouble or are in sorrow, when they offer words of encouragement and support, the Holy Spirit, the same way comes alongside us. He provides the divine encouragement we may need in our season of life. The Holy Spirit is the one who comes alongside us to exhort us, to encourage us in different ways. We see and read that in scripture and I just want to highlight some of these things what the Holy Spirit does to encourage us. He reminds us of the promises of God in our time of need. The Holy Spirit bears witness in our spirit and says that we are the children of God. The Holy Spirit helps us in times of our need. He helps us abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit and it is the Holy Spirit that intercedes on behalf of us. It is the Holy Spirit that assures us of our salvation and our eternal hope. So, we see the way the Holy Spirit encourages and comforts us. So, from what we receive from the Holy Spirit, we encourage one another. Paul prayed that the believers would be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, we read that in Ephesians. This power is not just for miraculous works but for bolstering our faith, hope and love which are the fundamental things of our Christian life. So, let’s seek the Spirit, so in moments when we are discouraged, let’s turn to prayer, seeking the presence and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, thereby for us to encourage one another. As we dive into God’s word, looking into the power of His word and promises, when we immerse ourselves in scripture, we are encouraged and we use that to encourage one another. So, let’s come today to be encouraged by the Holy Spirit so we can be used to encourage one another. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you for the Holy Spirit who reminds us of your promises, who tells us that we are children of God, who intercedes on behalf of us, who assures us of our salvation. Thank you that you encourage us day by day and so by teach us to encourage one another, we ask this in your precious name, Amen.
